THE GREEN MOUNTAIN LIBRARY CONSORTIUM PROVIDES DIGITAL RESOURCE SERVICES TO 160 MEMBER LIBRARIES (PUBLIC, SCHOOL, ACADEMIC, AND SPECIALIZED LIBRARIES) IN VERMONT. GMLC MEMBER LIBRARIES PROVIDE LIBRARY SERVICES TO OVER 405,000 PATRONS.

LISTEN UP VERMONT (LUV) PROVIDES A COLLECTION OF DIGITAL AUDIOBOOKS AND EBOOKS THAT GMLC MEMBER LIBRARIES OFFER TO THEIR PATRONS TO DOWNLOAD FOR FREE. OUR STATISTICS SHOW THAT FROM APRIL 30, 2022, TO MAY 1, 2023, LUV PATRONS CHECKED OUT 640,504 TOTAL DIGITAL ITEMS CONSISTING OF 243,532 EBOOKS AND 393,705 AUDIO BOOKS FROM OUR COLLECTION OF 55,422 UNIQUE TITLES. AS OF MAY 2023 THERE ARE 28,226 VERMONTERS WHO USE OUR DIGITAL LIBRARY, AN INCREASE OF NEARLY 5,000 FROM THE PREVIOUS YEAR.


KITKEEPER -- IS A STATEWIDE SERVICE TO PUBLIC LIBRARIES THAT PROVIDES A SOFTWARE PROGRAM THAT ALLOWS LIBRARIES WITH COLLECTIONS OF BOOKS TO SHARE THEM TO OTHER LIBRARIES FOR BOOK GROUPS. WE PROVIDED THIS PROGRAM WITH SOME START-UP MONEY AND NOW ARE PROVIDING THE LIBRARIES WITH A SMALL AMOUNT OF ACCOUNTING SUPPORT FOR THIS SOFTWARE.


THE VERMONT ORGANIZATION OF KOHA AUTOMATED LIBRARIES (VOKAL) IS A PROJECT OF THE GREEN MOUNTAIN LIBRARY CONSORTIUM DEDICATED TO CREATING A SHARED CATALOG AND INTEGRATED LIBRARY SYSTEM. THERE ARE CURRENTLY 63 VERMONT LIBRARIES PARTICIPATING IN THIS PROJECT - USING THE SAME CIRCULATION AND CATALOGING SYSTEM (CALLED KOHA) - CIRCULATION FOR THE LAST YEAR WAS 1.5 MILLION ITEMS. THE SYSTEM CONTAINS 363,882 DISTINCT TITLES AND OVER 1.4 MILLION ITEMS. THERE ARE 119,592 PATRONS REGISTERED IN THE SYSTEM AND THE AVERAGE DAILY CIRCULATION IS 4,800 ITEMS.


MANGO LANGUAGES IS A DIGITAL LANGUAGE LEARNING SERVICE. THERE ARE CURRENTLY 26 GMLC LIBRARIES ENROLLED IN MANGO LANGUAGES SERVICE. TOTAL NUMBER OF SESSIONS WAS 4,761; 42% MOBILE SESSIONS AND 62% WEB SESSIONS. MOST POPULAR LANGUAGE WERE FRENCH, SPANISH/LATIN AMERICAN, AND GERMAN.
