TO SPONSOR AND ORGANIZE NON-PARTISAN DISCUSSIONS OF ISSUES OF THE DAY, PRIMARILY THROUGH SALON DINNERS AND LUNCHES INTENDED TO EDUCATE, INFORM AND OFFER ROOM FOR DEBATE AMONG THE GUESTS; THESE EVENTS TYPICALLY INCLUDE AN EXPERT SPEAKER WHO, AFTER PRESENTING, IS CROSS EXAMINED BY MEMBERS OF THE AUDIENCE. 2. ACT AS A RECIPIENT OF GRANT MONEY ON BEHALF OF A FEW SELECT SCHOLARS, TO WHOM (IN CONTRAST TO THEIR UNIVERSITY OR OTHER AFFILIATIONS) IT CONVEYS THE FUNDS WITHOUT TAKING A FEE.
