Part 3
CREATE, EXPLORE AND PLAY PROVIDES A HALF DAY PROGRAM FOR KINDERGARTNERS TO LEARN AND PLAY IN AN ENRICHING ENVIRONMENT, ON FRIDAYS WHICH ARE HALF SCHOOL DAYS FOR KINDERGARTENERS AT THE CRESTED BUTTE COMMUNITY SCHOOL. STAFF MEATS CHILDREN AT THE SCHOOL AND TOGETHER THEY WALK TO THE MUSEUM. TIME IS SPENT EXPLORING CRESTED BUTTE, AT THE PLAYGROUND AND JUST RELAXING. THIS IS A VALUABLE SERVICE TO THE PARENTS OF KINDERGARTNERS IN THE COMMUNITY.
DURING EACH MAJOR BREAK IN THE CRESTED BUTTE COMMUNITY SCHOOL CALENDAR, THE TRAILHEAD OFFERS FULL-DAY ART CAMPS WHERE STUDENTS CAN PURSUE HANDS-ON PROJECTS AND ACTIVITIES TO IGNITE THEIR CREATIVITY AND IMAGINATION. THESE CAMPS ARE DESIGNED WITH KIDS AND PARENTS IN MIND. CHILDREN ARE GIVEN THE TIME AND SPACE TO CREATE AND EXPLORE THE MEDIUMS IN A SUPPORTIVE ENVIRONMENT. CAMPS ARE FILLED WITH FUN, FRIENDS, ART & PLAY. FOR THE COMMUNITIES WORKING PARENTS, SUCH AS THIS CPA, THESE CAMPS ARE AN INDISPENSABLE RESOURSE IN OUR AREA, WHICH LACKS OTHER SUCH COMMUNITY PROGRAMS.
BY BEING OPEN TO THE PUBLIC THROUGH THE DAILY VISITOR PROGRAM THE TRAILHEAD CHILDREN'S MUSEUM IS A PLACE OF DISCOVERY, LEARNING AND FUN SUITABLE FOR INFANTS, TODDLERS AND YOUNG CHILDREN. IT IS AN OPPORTUNITY FOR PARENTS, GRANDPARENTS AND CAREGIVERS TO ENGAGE IN THEIR CHILD'S DEVELOPMENT AND FOR CHILDREN TO UNCOVER SCIENTIFIC SECRETS, EXPLORE THEIR ARTISTIC TALENTS AND LEARN ABOUT THE WORLD AND COMMUNITY AROUND THEM.
