TO PROVIDE HUMANE EDUCATION TO ANIMAL HEALTH AND WELFARE PROFESSIONALS AND THE GENERAL PUBLIC ABOUT ISSUES AFFECTING THE WELFARE OF BOTH DOMESTIC ANIMALS AND WILDLIFE; AND TO PROVIDE A COMPREHENSIVE RESOURCE REFERRAL NETWORK TO CITIZENS IN OUR SERVICE AREA FOR THE PURPOSE OF AIDING ANIMALS, BOTH DOMESTIC AND WILD.

AHA'S GOAL IS TO CONNECT PEOPLE WITH THE RESOURCES THEY NEED TO UNDERSTAND, AID, AND ENJOY ANIMALS AND NATURE, AND TO ENGAGE HUMANS IN INNOVATIVE PROGRAMS TO HELP THEM BETTER UNDERSTAND AND LIVE WITH THE MANY CREATURES ON OUR PLANET. OUR RESALE SHOP IN LINDENHURST, ILLINOIS SELLS GENTLY USED ITEMS AND THE PROCEEDS HELP FUND SPAY/NEUTER AND OTHER PROGRAMMING. THE SHOP ALSO GIVES US A DAILY OPPORTUNITY TO EDUCATE THE PUBLIC WHEN THEY VISIT. DUE TO COVID-19 AHA SPONSORED PROGRAMS WERE LIMITED, HOWEVER, TO INCREASE THE PUBLIC AWARENESS OF OUR MISSION AND TO EDUCATE THE PUBLIC ON SUBJECTS RELATED TO OUR MISSION THE ORGANIZATION HOSTED AN OPEN HOUSE AT CHRISTMAS TIME.
