THE EXISTING TOILETS FOR STUDENTS OF PURKAL YOUTH DEVELOPMENT SOCIETY SCHOOL WERE OLD AND IN BAD SHAPE AND INADEQUATE FOR MORE THAN 500 STUDENTS AND STAFF. THEREFORE THE BOARD PROPOSED TO BUILD NEW TOILET BLOCK FOR A PROPOSED BUDGET OF $119,300 FOR 501 BENEFICIARIES TO BE COMPLETED IN 6 MONTHS. THIS TOILET PROJECT WOULD HELP TO IMPROVE SANITATION AND HYGIENE OF THE SCHOOL AND THE VILLAGE AND TWO GRANTS WERE GIVEN IN 2021 FOR THIS PROJECT. THE FIRST GRANT WAS FOR $50,000 PROVIDED ON 09.20.21
A SECOND GRANT OF USD $55,000 WAS MADE TO THE PYDS SCHOOL ON DEC 29, 2021 TOWARDS BUILDING TOILETS FOR NEEDY YOUTH AS AUTHORIZED BY BOARD TO IMPROVEMENT SANITATION AND HYGIENE OF THE SCHOOL AND THE VILLAGE.
