THE MISSION OF THE DOWNSTREAM PROJECT IS TO PROTECT WATERSHEDS BY PROMOTING AWARENESS, ALLIANCE, AND ACTION THROUGH CREATIVE TECHNOLOGY AND COMMUNICATION. DOWNSTREAM'S VISION IS A BROAD-BASED COMMUNITY OF PASSIONATE PEOPLE CONNECTED TO THEIR LOCAL WATERSHEDS. THE PROJECT FOCUS IS TO INCREASE AWARENESS OF ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUES AT THE LOCAL AND REGIONAL LEVELS AND HOW THEY CUMULATIVELY AFFECT US GLOBALLY. AS THE SAYING GOES "WE ALL LIVE DOWNSTREAM." IN THE WORDS OF FOUNDER, GEORGE L. OHRSTROM, II: "THE HOPE IS THAT PEOPLE WILL EDUCATE THEMSELVES AND STAND UP AND BECOME A VOICE FOR DOWNSTREAM ISSUES BECAUSE THEY ARE EXCEEDINGLY IMPORTANT TO ALL OF US."

1) WEBSITE DEVELOPMENTDOWNSTREAM CONTINUES TO HOST OVER FORTY CONSERVATION NONPROFIT WEBSITES AND PROVIDES SCHEDULED AND ON-DEMAND TECHNICAL AND CREATIVE SUPPORT TO THESE CLIENTS. DURING THIS FISCAL YEAR, WE ADDED THE CAPITAL REGION LAND CONSERVANCY OF RICHMOND, VIRGINIA, AS A NEW CLIENT. WE REDESIGNED THE FIRM'S OLD WEBSITE AND ADDED THEM TO OUR STABLE OF HOSTED AND SUPPORTED SITES.DOWNSTREAM CONTINUED TO SUPPORT BOTH THE 2021 AND 2022 LAND & GREENWAYS CONFERENCES FOR VIRGINIA UNITED LAND TRUSTS. PROJECTS INCLUDE PREPARATION AND POSTING OF 2021 CONFERENCE PRESENTATIONS AND CREATING PAGES FOR THE 2022 CONFERENCE REGISTRATION INCLUDING FIELD TRIP REGISTRATION FORMS.SIGNIFICANT AMONG THESE PROJECTS WAS THE DEVELOPMENT OF A GREEN PAGES CONSERVATION DIRECTORY FOR THE CATOCTIN LAND TRUST AND THE SUPPORT OF TWO MAJOR FUNDRAISERS FOR THE LAND TRUST OF VIRGINIA.WEBSITE HOSTING AND DOMAIN MANAGEMENT CONTINUE TO BE A CONSISTENT AND INCREASING SOURCE OF REVENUE WITH ONGOING EFFORTS TO REFINE OUR FEE STRUCTURE AND AUTOMATE BILLING.
2) CONSTITUENT RESOURCE MANAGEMENTDOWNSTREAM CONTINUES TO SUPPORT FIFTEEN OR MORE CLIENTS WITH THE INTEGRATION AND MAINTENANCE OF LITTLE GREEN LIGHT, THE CONSTITUENT RESOURCES MANAGEMENT APPLICATION, AND WEB INTEGRATION SUPPORTED BY OUR TEAM. NO NEW ACCOUNTS WERE ADDED THIS FISCAL YEAR, BUT THE MOST ACTIVE CLIENTS INCLUDED POTOMAC VALLEY AUDUBON, CONSERVATION WEST VIRGINIA, CHESAPEAKE LEGAL ALLIANCE, AND LAND TRUST OF VIRGINIA.
3) VIDEO PRODUCTIONCOVID PRODUCED A SIGNIFICANT SLOWDOWN IN OUR VIDEO PRODUCTION WORK AS LOCATION SHOOTS AND INTERVIEWS WERE CANCELED. GROUNDWORK WAS LAID FOR THE PRODUCTION OF A PROMOTIONAL VIDEO FOR JEFFERSON COUNTY VISION AND ACRE INVESTMENTS IN 2022
