SCIENCE, POLICY AND OUTREACH: OCEAN CONSERVANCY USES THE BEST AVAILABLE KNOWLEDGE, EVIDENCE AND SCIENCE, PUBLIC OPINION POLLING AND POLITICAL SCIENCE TO INFORM OUR CONSERVATION, ADVOCACY AND OUTREACH TO ADVANCE CONSERVATION SOLUTIONS THAT BENEFIT THE OCEAN AND THE PEOPLE AND COMMUNITIES THAT DEPEND ON IT. TRASH FREE SEAS: OCEAN CONSERVANCY EMPOWERS CITIZENS, BUSINESSES, GOVERNMENTS AND NGOS AT THE LOCAL, STATE, NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL LEVEL TO REDUCE THE GLOBAL PLASTIC FOOTPRINT AND TO STOP THE FLOW OF 11 MILLION TONS OF TRASH AND PLASTIC FLOWING INTO THE OCEAN ANNUALLY. WE IMPLEMENT AND ORGANIZE THE INTERNATIONAL COASTAL CLEANUP, ONE OF THE LARGEST SINGLE DAY VOLUNTEER EVENTS ON BEHALF OF THE OCEAN, RESPONSIBLE FOR PREVENTING AND REMOVING MORE THAN 300 MILLION POUNDS OF TRASH AND PLASTIC FROM OUR OCEAN, COASTS AND WATERWAYS, AND ENGAGING MILLIONS OF VOLUNTEERS ON BEHALF OF THE OCEAN. WE PARTNER WITH CITIES AND MUNICIPALITIES TO IMPLEMENT INNOVATIVE OCEAN PLASTIC REDUCTION EFFORTS AND ARE SPEARHEADING AN OCEAN PLASTIC RIVER CAPTURE PROJECT IN VIETNAM.
