PROVIDE UNINSURED AND UNDERINSURED RESIDENTS OF CENTRE COUNTY WITH ACCESS TO FREE PREVENTATIVE, ACUTE AND BEHAVIORAL PRIMARY HEALTH CARE: IN FY 2021 PROVIDED 524 UNIQUE PATIENTS IN THE MEDICAL CLINIC WITH 2,967 PATIENT VISITS, BOTH IN-HOUSE AND TELEMEDICINE. STAFF AND VOLUNTEERS UTILIZE A REFERRAL NETWORK TO ASSIST PATIENTS TO ACCESS ANCILLARY SERVICES SUCH AS X-RAY, ULTRASOUND AND OTHER DIAGNOSTIC TESTING, AND SPECIALTY SERVICES SUCH AS ORTHOPEDIST, CARDIOLOGIST AND OPTOMETRIST CARE. THE VALUE OF THESE VISITS IS ESTIMATED AT $495,877.SOME EXPENSE AND GRANT INCOME IS FOR VACCINE CLINICS THAT WERE HELD OUTSIDE THE CLINIC.

DENTISTS AND DENTAL HYGIENISTS (MANY VOLUNTEERS) PROVIDED EMERGENCY EVALUATIONS OF PATIENTS WITH SEVERE DENTAL PAIN, EXTRACTED TEETH DECAYED BEYOND SALVAGING, RESTORED TEETH THAT COULD BE SALVAGED, AND PROVIDED REGULAR CLEANING AND HYGIENE SERVICES. SOME DESIGNATED REVENUES ARE RESTRICTED TO SPECIALIST SERVICES AND AMOUNTS ROLL OVER INTO THE NEXT FISCAL YEAR.


PROVIDE FREE PRESCRIPTION MEDICATIONS TO 335 UNIQUE PATIENTS THAT ARE PURCHASED DIRECTLY BY CVIM, DONATED OR APPLIED FOR THROUGH THE MEDICATION ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (MAP). MAP IS A TEAM OF VOLUNTEERS WHO APPLY FOR FREE MEDICATION PROGRAMS AT PHARMACEUTICAL COMPANIES ON BEHALF OF CVIM PATIENTS. IN FY 2021, MAP ACCESSED APPROXIMATELY $485,744 WORTH OF MEDICATIONS FROM PHARMACEUTICAL COMPANIES TO BE PROVIDED TO CVIM PATIENTS. THE VALUE OF THESE PRESCRIPTION MEDICATIONS IS NOT CONSIDERED A DONATION TO THE ORGANIZATION AND THUS IS NOT REFLECTED IN FINANCIAL STATEMENTS.


PROVIDE ACCESS TO FREE CASE MANAGEMENT SERVICES TO ASSIST UNINSURED AND UNDERINSURED RESIDENTS OF CENTRE COUNTY TO ENROLL IN AND UTILIZE EXISTING MEDICAL ASSISTANCE AND OTHER SOCIAL SERVICE PROGRAMS SUCH AS HEAT AND RENT ASSISTANCE, THE FOOD BANK, AND OFFICE OF VOCATIONAL REHABILITATION SERVICES.
