THE SILVER EYE CENTER FOR PHOTOGRAPHY IS THE REGION'S ONLY NONPROFIT ARTS ORGANIZATION WITH AN EXCLUSIVE COMMITMENT TO PHOTOGRAPHY. THE MISSION IS TO COMMUNICATE THE VALUE AND SIGNIFICANCE OF PHOTOGRAPHIC IMAGES AS VITAL FORMS OF CREATIVE EXPRESSION AND AS A FORCE THAT SHAPES AND INFLUENCES OUR DIVERSE VALUES, HISTORIES, AND COMMUNITIES.

ORGANIZED AND PRESENTED SEVERAL EXHIBITIONS FOR THE FISCAL YEAR. THESE EXHIBITIONS FEATURE EMERGING AND MID-CAREER ARTISTS FROM PITTSBURGH AND ACROSS THE U.S. AS WELL AS INTERNATIONALLY KNOWN ARTISTS AND ICONIC FIGURES IN THE FIELD.
A YEARLY ROSTER OF SCHOOL, YOUTH, FAMILY AND ADULT WORKSHOPS, CLASSES, TOURS, LECTURES AND EVENTS COMPLEMENT THE EXHIBITIONS AND FOSTER ARTS-BASED LEARNING AS WELL AS OPPORTUNITIES FOR LIFELONG CREATIVITY, CULTURAL PARTICIPATION AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT. ADMISSION TO EXHIBITIONS AND MANY PUBLIC PROGRAMS IS FREE.
