THE INDIANA TOWNSHIP VOLUNTEER FIRE COMPANY PROVIDES FIREFIGHTING/FIRE EDUCATION TO MEMBERS OF THE COMMUNITY ON A VOLUNTEER BASIS. THE COMPANY PROVIDED THE FOLLOWING SERVICES RESPONDED TO 171 FIRE CALLS. HELD 5 FIRE DRILL/SAFETY PROGRAMS.. PROVIDED MEETING SPACE TO OTHER LOCAL NONPROFIT ORGANIZATIONS. HELD 720 HOURS IN HOUSE TRAINING SESSIONS. NO INDIVIDUAL IS PAID FOR PROVIDING SERVICES OUTLINED ABOVE. ALL VOLUNTEERS IN THE FIRE DEPARTMENT ARE TRAINED IN PERFORMING LIFE SAVING TECHNIQUES. THE COMPANY IS SUPPORTED BY THE RESIDENTS OF THE AREA IT SERVES. THE COMPANY WILL CONTINUE TO EDUCATE THE CITIZENS IT SERVES IN FIRE AND ACCIDENT PREVENTION. THE PRIMARY FUNCTION OF THE COMPANY IS TO PROVIDE THE COMMUNITY WITH LOW COST, SAFE AND EFFECTIVE FIRE ASSISTANCE. WITHOUT THE VOLUNTEER FIREMEN THE COMMUNITY WOULD HAVE TO SPEND HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS ON HIRING EMPLOYEES TO PERFORM THE TASKS.
