THE MISSION OF THE M.H.A. IS TO PROMOTE AN ENVIRONMENT OF EMPOWERMENT AND ACCEPTANCE FOR ALL PEOPLE DEALING WITH MENTAL HEALTH ISSUES THROUGH ADVOCACY, EDUCATION, AND COMPREHENSIVE SUPPORT SERVICES

LONG TERM STRUCTURED RESIDENCE (L.T.S.R.) IS A RESIDENCE FOR 16 RESIDENTS WITH SERIOUS MENTAL ILLNESS AND PROVIDES 24 HOUR AWAKE STAFF WHICH INCLUDES NURSING CARE AND ON-SITE PSYCHIATRIC CARE WITH A BOARD CERTIFIED PSYCHIATRIST. WITH A 2:1 STAFF TO RESIDENT RATIO. THERE IS A HIGH LEVEL OF PROFESSIONALISM AS WELL AS SECURITY. THIS FACILITY IS LOCKED AT ALL TIMES AND PROVIDES OPTIMAL SAFETY AND REHABILITATION SERVICES FOR ITS RESIDENTS. A VERY STRUCTURED THERAPEUTIC DAY FEATURES PSYCHEDUCATIONAL GROUPS; PSYCHIATRIC REHABILITATION RECOVER ACTIVITIES AND COMMUNITY INTEGRATIONS SKILLS.


THE ENHANCED PERSONAL CARE HOME (E.P.C.H.) SERVES 12 INDIVIDUALS WITH SEVERE MENTAL HEALTH ISSUES. RESIDENTS RECEIVE ASSISTANCE WITH MEDICATION MANAGEMENT, FINANCIAL BUDGETING, MEAL PREPARATION, LAUNDRY AND SOCIALIZATION. DAILY GROUPS PROVIDE COUNSELING AND PSYCHIATRIC REHABILITATION. THIS FACILITY IS UNLOCKED AND OFFERS PERSONAL LIVING SUPPORT. WITH ALL STAFF TRAINED IN MENTAL HEALTH ISSUES AND A M.S.W. AS ON-SITE PROGRAM DIRECTOR THE FACILITY PROVIDES A HIGHLY SKILLED LEVEL OF MILIEU THERAPY. IN ADDITION RESIDENTS RECEIVE DAILY GROUP ACTIVITIES.


THE CIRCLE CENTER DROP-IN-CENTER OFFERS PEER SUPPORT AND FELLOWSHIP TO ITS OVER 800 MEMBERS. OPEN SEVEN DAYS A WEEK THE CENTER OFFERS SUPPORT GROUPS AS WELL AS SOCIALIZATION ACTIVITIES SUCH AS GAMES, POOL, CRAFTS, AND HOLIDAY CELEBRATIONS. INSTRUCTION IN COMPUTER OPERATIONS IS AVAILABLE IN THE COMPUTER LAB AND CLASSES IN YOGA AND PHYSICAL FITNESS ARE HELD IN THE EXERCISE ROOM. SEVEN EVENINGS A WEEK THE PEER RUN WARMLINE ANSWERS CALLS FROM THOSE WHO NEED SUPPORT TO SUCCEED IN THE COMMUNITY. CALLS COME FROM WASHINGTON, FAYETTE, GREENE AS WELL AS ALLEGHENY COUNTY.


OTHER PROGRAM INCLUDE THE PARENT ADVOCATE PROGRAM, THE REPRESENTATIVE PAYEE PROGRAM AND THE MOBILE PSYCHIATRIC REHABILITATION PROGRAM.
