ALP RECRUITS, TRAINS, CERTIFIES, AND SUPPORTS VOLUNTEER TEACHERS WHO TEACH READING, WRITING AND SPEAKING ENGLISH TO ADULTS, SERVING AN AVERAGE OF 600 STUDENTS EACH YEAR. ALP CHANGES LIVES AND ENRICHES OUR COMMUNITY BY TEACHING ADULTS LITERACY SKILLS TO INCREASE THIER SELF-SUFFICIENCY. ALP'S PEER LEADER NAVIGATOR INITIATIVE PROVIDES INFORMMATION ON ACCESS TO HEALTH CASRE, MENTAL HEALTH CARE AND DISASTER PREPAREDNESS FOR ANCHORAGE COMMUNITY MEMBERS.
