THE MISSION OF THE HALIWA-SAPONI INDIAN TRIBE IS TO PROTECT THE INTERESTS, IDENTITY, AND RIGHTS OF THE HALIWA-SAPONI INDIAN PEOPLE AND TO PROMOTE THE CULTURAL AND TRADITIONAL HERITAGE OF THE HALIWA-SAPONI PEOPLE OF HALIFAX, WARREN,AND SURROUNDING COUNTIES. ADDITIONALLY, THE ORGANIZATION AIMS TO PROMOTE THE ADVANCEMENT OF THE HALIWA-SAPONI INDIAN PEOPLE BY SECURING EDUCATIONAL, HEALTH, ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT, HOUSING, CULTURAL, AND SOCIAL PROGRAMS. THE ORGANIZATION ALSO WORKS TO PROMOTE, MAINTAIN AND FOSTER GOOD PUBLIC RELATIONS WITH LOCAL, STATE, FEDERAL AND OTHER TRIBAL GOVERNMENTS AND BUSINESS. ADDITIONALLY, THE ORGANIZATION WORKS TO PROMOTE GOODWILL, PEACE, AND HARMONY WITHIN THE TRIBAL COMMUNITY AND OTHER INDIAN TRIBES AND TO SERVE AS A FORUM THROUGH WHICH CONCERNS AND ISSUES OF THE HALIWA-SAPONI INDIAN PEOPLE MAY BE ADDRESSED. THE TRIBE ALSO OPERATES A CHARTER SCHOOL.

HALIWA-SAPONI TRIBAL SCHOOL IS A PUBLIC SCHOOL OPERATED BY THE NON-PROFIT CORPORATION SERVING APPROXIMATELY 161 STUDENTS FOR THE FISCAL YEAR ENDING 6/30/21.


THE HALIWA-SAPONI INDIAN TRIBE IS DEDICATED TO PROTECTING THE INTEREST, IDENTITY, AND RIGHTS OF THE HALIWA-SAPONI INDIAN PEOPLE, PROMOTING THEIR CULTURE AND HERITAGE, PROMOTING THEIR EDUCATIONAL AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AND PROMOTING GOODWILL, PEACE, AND HARMONY WITHIN THE INDIAN COMMUNITY
