DCCCA, INC. PROVIDES AND COORDINATES SERVICES ACROSS KANSAS AND OKLAHOMA THAT IMPACTS THE HEALTH, SAFETY, AND WELL-BEING OF THOSE WE SERVE. WE WORK TO IMPROVE LIVES BY PROVIDING BEHAVIORAL HEALTH TREATMENT AND PREVENTION SERVICES, RECRUITING, TRAINING AND SUPPORTING FOSTER HOMES AND PROVIDING TRAFFIC SAFETY EDUCATION AND RESOURCES. DCCCA, INC. ALSO COOPERATES WITH LOCAL, STATE, AND NATIONAL PROGRAMS AND ASSOCIATIONS TO PROVIDE EDUCATION, SERVICE, AND RESOURCES WHEN NEEDED.WE VALUE:PROVIDING EDUCATION AND SERVICES BASED ON RESEARCH AND A DEDICATED COMMITMENT TO IMPROVING LIVES. CHILD PLACING AGENCY SPECIALISTS RECRUIT, TRAIN AND PROVIDE ONGOING SUPPORT TO FOSTER AND ADOPT FAMILIES ACROSS KANSAS AND MISSOURI. DCCCA STAFF PROVIDE A BROAD RANGE OF SUPPORTS TO FOSTER FAMILIES 24 HOURS A DAY, 7 DAYS A WEEK. DCCCA HAS PROVIDED CHILD PLACING AGENCY SERVICES SINCE 2002, AND CHILD WELFARE SERVICES SINCE 1997. DCCCA HAS RECRUITED, TRAINED AND SUPPORTED OVER 871 FOSTER FAMILIES IN THE PAST YEAR AND OVER 1,247 CHILDREN. DCCCA WORKS WITH THE KANSAS DEPARTMENT FOR CHILDREN AND FAMILIES AND THE MISSOURI DEPARTMENT OF SOCIAL SERVICES IN EFFORTS TO RECRUIT, TRAIN AND SUPPORT FOSTER AND ADOPTIVE FAMILIES.FAMILY PRESERVATION STAFF PROVIDE IN-HOME INTERVENTIONS TO ASSIST FAMILIES IN CRISIS BY IMPROVING THEIR PARENTING AND FAMILY FUNCTIONING WHILE KEEPING CHILDREN SAFE. DCCCA SUPPORTS FAMILIES 24 HOURS A DAY, 7 DAYS A WEEK. DCCCA UTILIZES EVIDENCED BASED SOBRIETY TREATMENT AND RECOVERY TEAMS MODEL TO ENHANCE OUTCOMES FOR FAMILIES THAT HAVE SUBSTANCE USE NEEDS. DCCCA INITIALLY BEGAN FAMILY PRESERVATION SERVICES IN 1997. DCCCA PROVIDED SERVICES TO 1,394 FAMILIES DURING FISCAL YEAR 2022.
DCCCA HAS PROVIDED BEHAVIORAL HEALTH TREATMENT IN KANSAS FOR THE PAST 48 YEARS, BEGINNING IN DOUGLAS COUNTY IN 1974 AND THEN EXPANDING SERVICES TO COVER OTHER AREAS IN KANSAS. DCCCA'S SUBSTANCE USE DISORDER TREATMENT PROGRAMS SERVICES 2,600 PEOPLE INDIVIDUALS DURING THE FISCAL YEAR, 59 CHILDREN WERE SERVED BY OUR LICENSED CHILDCARE CENTERS WHILE RESIDING WITH THEIR MOTHERS IN TREATMENT, AND 47 INDIVIDUALS RECEIVED OUTPATIENT MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES.DCCCA BEHAVIORAL HEALTH HAS CONTINUED TO FOCUS ON ASSISTING OUR CLIENTS WITH RECEIVING MEDICATION ASSISTED TREATMENT BY LINKING OUR CLIENTS WITH LICENSED PRESCRIBERS. DCCCA BEHAVIORAL HEALTH PROGRAMS HAVE WORKED DILIGENTLY TO BUILD RELATIONSHIPS WITH LICENSED PRESCRIBERS TO HELP OUR CLIENTS WITH MEDICATIONS TO STRENGTHEN THEIR RECOVERY. THIS IS AVAILABLE BECAUSE OF STATE DOLLARS TO ALLOW THE UNINSURED INDIVIDUALS ACCESS TO THESE MEDICATIONS. DCCCA SUCCESSFULLY MADE THE TRANSITION TO HAVING TOBACCO AND VAPE FREE FACILITIES, THIS IMPACTED OUR RESIDENTIAL FACILITIES THE MOST, HOWEVER BY OFFERING SMOKING CESSATION PROGRAMS AND PATCHES, WE HAVE SEEN SUCCESS. DCCCA WOMEN'S RECOVERY CENTER IN WICHITA ALONG WITH KANSAS DEPARTMENT OF AGING AND DISABILITY SERVICES WAS AWARDED A 3-YEAR GRANT FROM SAMHSA TO FOCUS ON SUBSTANCE USING PREGNANT AND POST-PARTUM WOMEN. KANSAS HELPING EMPOWER AND RECOVER TOGETHER (KS-HEART) IS A YEARLONG FAMILY CENTERED APPROACH TO SUBSTANCE USE TREATMENT AND RECOVERY FOR PREGNANT AND PARENTING WOMEN. DCCCA BEHAVIORAL HEALTH CONTINUED OUR FOCUS ON PEER SUPPORT ACTIVITIES INCLUDING THE SOCIAL DETOX SERVICES PARTNERSHIP WITH LAWRENCE MEMORIAL HEALTH HOSPITAL, OUR CONTINUED PARTNERSHIP WITH DCCCA FAMILY PRESERVATION UTILIZING THE SOBRIETY TREATMENT AND RECOVERY TEAMS (START) COLLABORATION. THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC CONTINUED TO LIMIT KANSANS' ACCESS TO RESIDENTIAL TREATMENT, RESIDENTIAL PROGRAMS IN WICHITA AND LAWRENCE CONTINUE TO OPERATE AT 60% CAPACITY TO MITIGATE VIRUS EXPOSURE AND SPREAD. DCCCA BEHAVIORAL HEALTH OUTPATIENT PROGRAMS HAVE RETURNED TO OFFERING IN-PERSON SERVICES THAT INCLUDE ASSESSMENTS, COURT EVALUATIONS, INDIVIDUAL AND GROUP SESSIONS. VIRTUAL SERVICES ARE ALSO OFFERED AND AVAILABLE AS A WAY TO REDUCE BARRIERS FOR KANSAS RESIDENTS SEEKING TREATMENT.

PREVENTION SERVICES PROGRAMS DESIGN AND DEVELOP LEARNING MODULES AND TRAINING RESOURCES FOCUSED ON SUBSTANCE ABUSE PREVENTION, MENTAL HEALTH PROMOTION, SUICIDE PREVENTION, AND PROBLEM GAMBLING PREVENTION. DCCCA HAS SPECIFIC PRESCRIPTION DRUG AND OPIOID MISUSE PREVENTION EFFORTS IN KANSAS AND OKLAHOMA. DCCCA'S COMMUNITY-BASED SERVICES DIVISION ALSO OFFERS STRATEGIC PLANNING AND MEETING FACILITATION SERVICES FOR COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS. DCCCA ALSO COORDINATES NALOXONE DISTRIBUTION AND SAFE STORAGE AND DISPOSAL METHODS FOR PRESCRIPTION DRUGS AND OPIOIDS.
