WE THE WYANDOT OF ANDERDON, INSPIRED BY OUR PROUD AND DOCUMENTED NATIVE AMERICAN HERITAGE, PLEDGE TO PERPETUATE OUR NATIVE VALUES AND CULTURE FOR THE PURPOSE OF ESTABLICHING AND PROMOTING QUALITY TRIBAL MANAGEMENT AND FINANCIAL STABILITY, ECONOMIC AND EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES, CULTURAL TRADITIONS AND HISTORY AWAREMESS, AND TO PROVIDED SERVICES AND ENTITLEMENTS FOR THE BETTERMENT OF OUR PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE GENERATIONS, AS WELL AS OTHER NATIVE CULTURES AND LOCAL COMMUNITIES.

GATHERING OF SUPPORTIVE DATA TO BUILD A TRIBAL ARCHIVE, IN ACCORDANACE WITH A GRANT FROM THE ADMINISTRATION FOR NATIVE AMERICANS, FOR THE WYANDOT OF ANDERDON NATION. OFFICIALLY ARCHIVED OVER 500 PIECES OF DOCUMENTATION WITH OVER 2000 MORE WAITING TO BE FULLY PROCESSED. THE ITEMS INCLUDE PHOTOGRAPHS, TREATIES, HAND-WRITTEN LETTERS, MAPS, BOOKS, DISSERTATIONS, NEWSPAPER ARTICLES, TRIBAL GOVERNANCE, VITAL RECORDS, AND OTHER ITEMS OF HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE.


THREE INDIVIDUALS WERE AWARDED SCHOLARSHIPS OF 500 EACH TO BE USED COLLEGE EDUCATION. ELDERS ARE CELEBRATED AND HONORED AT TRIBAL ELDER EVENTS.


INTERACTION WITH THE LOCAL COMMUNITY AND SCHOOLS IN THE CONDUCT OF TRIBAL PROGRAMS. APPROXIMATELY 2500 PARTICIPATED IN THESE PROGRAMS.


THE TRIBE ASSISTS THE WYANDOTTE NATION WITH IMPLEMENTATION OF THE ANNUAL FUNDING AGREEMENT WITH THE NATIONAL PARK SERVICE, AT THE RIVER RAISIN NATIONAL BATTLEFIELD PARK. THE PARK IS LOCATED CLOSE TO THE SHORES OF LAKE ERIE APPROXIMATELY 40 MILES SOUTHWEST OF DETROIT AND IS ON LAND PREVIOUSLY OCCUPIED BY THE TRIBE. UNDER THE AGREEMENT THE TRIBE PROVIDES THE FOLLOWING AT THE PARK: (1)INTERPRETIVE, EDUCATIONAL AND VOLUNTEER ACTIVITIES; (2) MAINTENANCE ACTIVITIES; (3) CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES; AND, (4) SCHEDULED RESEARCH AND PROJECT ACTIVITIES. APPROXIMATELY 250,000 PEOPLE VISIT THE PARK ANNUALLY.
