MINNESOTA HOCKEY DISTRICT CONTINUES TO ADMINISTER YOUTH HOCKEY PROGRAMS IN CENTRAL MINNESOTA. DISTRICT 5 HOSTED 10 TEAMS FROM DISTRICT 4, TOTALING 123 TEAMS IN 21 DIVISIONS. WE SCHEDULED AND PLAYED 928 LEAGUE GAMES AND AN ADDITIONAL 1,600 NON LEAGUE GAMES WERE COVERED BY OUR OFFICIALS. 31 TEAMS WERE SENT TO REGIONAL TOURNAMENTS AND 1 TEAM WAS SENT TO THE STATE TOURNAMENT. THE DISTRICT HOSTED 5 REGIONAL TOURNAMENTS AND 1 STATE TOURNAMENT. WE HAD OUR FALL DISTRICT WIDE TIER II 14U GIRLS TEAM QUALIFY AND PLAY IN THE NATIONAL TOURNAMENT IN SIOUX FALLS, SD. LASTLY, JEFF SWENSON OUR TREASURER RECEIVED THE PRESIDENTS AWARD AT THE MINNESOTA HOCKEY BANQUET THIS SPRING FOR HIS MANY YEARS OF SERVICE.
