TO PROVIDE ADVOCACY AND BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITIES FOR THE BUSINESS COMMUNITY OF THE DISTRICT TO PROMOTE THE ECONOMIC, COMMERCIAL, INDUSTRIAL, AND CIVIL WELFARE OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA BY MOBILIZING TECHNICAL AND MANAGEMENT RESOURCES, PROVIDING MANAGEMENT TRAINING AND TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE THROUGH EDUCATIONAL MATERIAL, TRAINING AND INSTRUCTING SMALL BUSINESSES AND PROVIDING ADVOCACY AND BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITIES FOR THE BUSINESS COMMUNITY IN THE DISTRICT.

SMALL BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT SUMMIT-EACH YEAR, THE DC CHAMBER HOSTS A SMALL BUSINESS SUMMIT OF APPOXIMATELY 300-400 GUESTS AT THE WASHINGTON CONVENTION CENTER. THIS SUMMIT FEATURES SEVERAL WORKSHOPS AND SEMINARS THAT ARE DESIGNED TO HELP SMALL BUSINESSES AT THE VARIOUS POINTS OF THEIR BUSINESS LIFE-CYCLE (NEW BUSINESS/START-UP, GROWING BUSINESS, AND MATURE BUSINESS - READY FOR NEXT LEVEL). THE CHAMBER WORKS WITH VARIOUS PARTNERS AND GOVERNMENT AGENCIES TO PROVIDE INFORMATION ON PROCUREMENT AND GRANT PROGRAMS, ACCESS TO CAPITAL, BUSINESS RESOURCES, AND OPPORTUNITIES FOR BUSINESS-TO-BUSINESS CONNECTION. THIS YEAR'S SUMMIT HOSTED 350 ATTENDEES, PRESENTERS, AND GUESTS.
