PROVIDE YEAR-ROUND COMMUNITY FACILITIES AND ACTIVITIES AND MAINTAIN THE FAIRGROUNDS FOR THE SOUTHEAST ALASKA STATE FAIR AND OTHER COMMUNITY EVENTS.

HAINES FARMER'S MARKET TAKES PLACE JUNE THROUGH SEPTEMBER. EVERY SATURDAY THE GROUP RENTS TABLES FOR THE MARKET. THIS HELPS BRING PEOPLE ONTO THE FAIRGROUNDS AND LETS LOCAL ENTREPRENEURS SELL THEIR GOODS.
FISHERMAN'S BBQ IS A COMMUNITY EVENT HELD AT THE BEGINNING OF THE SUMMER. IT IS A TIME FOR EVERYONE TO COME TOGETHER AND CELEBRATE BEFORE THE FISHING SEASON STARTS.
THE SOUTHEAST ALASKA STATE FAIR IS A COMMUNITY EVENT ORGANIZED AND ORCHESTRATED FOR THE BETTERMENT OF BOTH OUR LOCAL COMMUNITY AND THOSE AROUND US. THE SOUTHEAST ALASKA STATE FAIR HOSTS A 4 DAY EVENT FULL OF ART, MUSIC, FOOD AND FAMILY FOR EVERYONE TO ENJOY. MANY ATTENDEES COME FROM SURROUNDING COMMUNITIES TO TAKE PART IN THE FOUR DAYS OF FUN. THERE IS A LOGGING CONTEST, A CHILDREN'S STAGE, FAIR RIDES AND A VARIETY OF LIVE MUSIC ON THE BIG STAGE.
COVID IMPACTED MANY OF THE PROGRAMS THAT WERE PLANNED FOR 2020 AND BEYOND. DESPITE NOT HAVING REVENUE FROM THESE EVENTS, THE SOUTHEAST ALASKA STATE FAIR STILL EMPLOYED 5 INDIVIDUALS AND PLANNED EVENTS FROM THE UP COMING YEARS. THIS INCLUDED MANY EVENTS SCHEDULED FOR 2021 INCLUDING A REGIONAL FAIR, SOUTHEAST ALASKA BACKCOUNTRY GAMES, FARMERS MARKETS AND DRIVE IN MOVIES.
