DUE TO UNFORTUNATE CIRCUMSTANCES, TUCSON URBAN LEAGUE WAS UNABLE TO OPERATE ANY OF ITS PROGRAMS DURING THE FISCAL YEAR ENDED JUNE 30, 2021. THE ORGANIZATION USED THE TIME TO REEVALUATE WHO WE ARE AND WHAT WE STAND FOR. WE KNOW THAT THIS WORK IS NOT ABOUT US, BUT ABOUT OUR COMMUNITY, THE PEOPLE WE SERVE, AND THE PEOPLE WHO BUILT THE TUCSON URBAN LEAGUE. WE SPENT 2020 AND 2021 BUILDING AND REIMAGINING WHAT THE NEW TUCSON URBAN LEAGUE WILL LOOK LIKE AND HOW WE CAN SERVE OUR COMMUNITY EFFECTIVELY. THROUGH CONVERSATION AND STRATEGIC PLANNING, WE HAVE BEEN WORKING CONSISTENTLY TO BRING THE URBAN LEAGUE BACK BETTER THAN EVER. WE HAVE HIRED AN INTERIM EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, WORKED TO BUILD CAPACITY, EVALUATED OUR DEBT, AND CREATED A PLAN TO PAY IT OFF. WE ARE WELL ON THE ROAD TO BRINGING BACK THE LEAGUE FULL FORCE, LEADING FROM A PLACE OF INTENTIONALITY, COMPASSION, AND COMMUNITY-FOCUS.
