THE MISSION OF THE WETLANDS INSTITUTE IS TO PROMOTE APPRECIATION, UNDERSTANDING AND STEWARDSHIP OF WETLAND AND COASTAL ECOSYSTEMS THROUGH PROGRAMS IN RESEARCH, CONSERVATION AND EDUCATION.

TO EDUCATE THE PUBLIC (SCHOOL CHILDREN, COLLEGE STUDENTS & ADULTS) ON THE FUNCTION AND VALUES OF WETLANDS & COASTAL ECOSYSTEMS THROUGHOUT THE STATE OF NEW JERSEY. TO RESEARCH THE ECOSYSTEM FUNCTION AND KEYSTONE AND FLAGSHIP SPECIES RESULTING IN AND UTILIZING COASTAL & WETLANDS ECOSYSTEMS. TO CREATE STEWARDSHIP AND CONSERVATION PROJECTS AND PROGRAMS TO PRESERVE AND PROTECT COASTAL AND WETLAND ECOSYSTEMS.
