NEIGHBORHOOD BIKE WORKS INSPIRES YOUTH AND STRENGTHENS PHILADELPHIA COMMUNITIES BY PROVIDING EQUITABLE ACCESS TO BICYCLING AND BIKE REPAIR THROUGH EDUCATION, RECREATION, LEADERSHIP AND CAREER-BUILDING OPPORTUNITIES

NEIGHBORHOOD BIKE WORKS PROVIDED OUT-OF-SCHOOL ACTIVITIES TO OVER 500 YOUTHS IN PHILADELPHIA. THROUGH BIKE RIDING AND BIKE REPAID PROGRAMMING THAT BUILDS CONFIDENCE AND LIFE SKILLS. YOUTH AGES 8 TO 18 LEARN BASIC BIKE REPAIR SKILLS AND SAFE URBAN BICYCLING TECHNIQUES THROUGH OUR EARN-A-BIKE AND RIDE CLUB PROGRAMS, DROP-IN SESSIONS, SUMMER CAMP, AND MONTHLY GROUP BIKE RIDES. ADDITIONALLY, THROUGH OUR RIDE CLUB AND SUMMER CAMP, YOUTH WERE EXPOSED TO THE REGION'S CIRCUT TRAILS AND WERE EXPOSED TO WATERSHED EDUCATION TOPICS. IN TOTAL, THROUGHOUT THE FISCAL YEAR, YOUTH PARTICIPANTS SPENT OVER 2500 ATTENDENCE DAYS AND RODE THEIR BIKE OVER 5,000 MILES IN NBW'S PROGRAMS.
