DOSOMETHING FUELS YOUNG PEOPLE TO CHANGE THE WORLD. WE ARE THE LEADING HUB FOR YOUTH-CENTERED ACTIVISM AND SERVICE WITH OVER 1 MILLION ACTIVE MEMBERS. WE'VE MOBILIZED OVER 8 MILLION YOUNG PEOPLE (13-25) IN EVERY U.S. AREA CODE AND 189 COUNTRIES SINCE OUR FOUNDING IN 1993.IN 2023, DOSOMETHING POSITIONED ITSELF TO CONTINUE ANOTHER 30 YEARS, THE BELOW REFLECTS THE 4 TOP ACHIEVEMENTS:1. LAUNCHED THE ART OF DEMOCRACY PROGRAM, WHICH CONVENED NEARLY 1,000 YOUNG PEOPLE ACROSS NEW YORK CITY AND GATHERED STORIES FROM OVER 100 TO ELEVATE THEIR VOICE AHEAD OF THE NYC CITY COUNCIL ELECTIONS.2. HOSTED THE FUTURES BALL, WHICH GATHERED OVER 300 LEADERS FROM ACROSS THE SOCIAL IMPACT SECTOR TO CHAMPION YOUTH LED IMPACT.3. PREVIEWED THE FUTURE OF DOSOMETHING.ORG BY ANNOUNCING PROJECT RISE, THE NEW DIGITAL DOSOMETHING PLATFORM, DURING OUR 30TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION.4. DEEPENED OUR COMMITMENT TO DIVERSITY, EQUITY, INCLUSION AND BELONGING BY EXPERIMENTING WITH AND IMPLEMENTING NEW STRATEGIES

DOSOMETHING'S RESEARCH TEAM, THE DOSOMETHING DISCOVERY LAB, REGULARLY CONDUCTS RESEARCH WITH OUR MEMBERS TO DEVELOP EVIDENCE-BASED PROGRAMMING AND PRODUCT EXPERIENCES THAT CENTER THE PERSPECTIVES OF YOUNG PEOPLE AT THE INTERSECTION OF THEIR SPECTRUM OF IDENTITIES AND BELIEFS. THESE INSIGHTS DIRECTLY INFORMED THE MESSAGING AND THEORY OF CHANGE FOR OUR PROGRAMS IN 2024. OUR KEY IMPACT METRICS FROM 2023 INCLUDE: * VOLUNTEERISM - 96% OF MEMBERS INDICATED THEY WERE INTERESTED IN COMMUNITY SERVICE AND VOLUNTEER WORK.* YOUTH VOICE - ONLY 17% OF MEMBERS EXPRESSED THAT THEY BELIEVE THAT LAWMAKERS CONSIDER THEIR VOICES IN POLICIES ENACTED IN THE UNITED STATES.* ECONOMIC SECURITY - 86% OF YOUNG PEOPLE SAID, "QUALITY WORK," I.E. JOB SATISFACTION, LIVABLE WAGES, BENEFITS, AND GOOD HOURS, WAS IMPORTANT TO THEIR ECONOMIC SECURITY. YET ONLY 15% OF THEM FELT CONFIDENT IN THEIR ABILITY TO FIND THIS KIND OF ECONOMICALLY VIABLE WORK.* EDUCATIONAL EQUITY - 68% OF MEMBERS DO NOT HAVE ACCESS TO A STEM LAB UNDERSCORING HOW SYSTEMIC INEQUITIES PREVENT STUDENTS FROM COMMUNITIES HISTORICALLY UNDERREPRESENTED IN STEM CAREERS FROM PURSUING STEM EDUCATION AND, ULTIMATELY, CAREERS IN STEM.
