ORGANIZATION'S MISSION OR MOST SIGNIFICANT ACTIVITIES ARE TO PROVIDE LONG-TERM SUPPORT TO 1) BASIC AND CLINICAL RESEARCH PROGRAMS LEADING TO A CURE, 2) CLINICAL CENTERS OF EXCELLENCE FOR THE CARE AND TREATMENT OF PATIENTS WITH ALS, 3) SUPPORT PROGRAMS FOR PATIENTS AND CARE-GIVERS THAT OPTIMIZE CARE AND PROMOTE INDEPENDENCE OF THE PATIENT., AND 4) PROGRAMS THAT PROMOTE PATIENT AND PHYSICIAN EDUCATION ABOUT THE DIAGNOSIS, TREATMENT AND CARING FOR THE PATIENT WITH ALS.
