Part 3 - Line 4a
THE WYOMING COUNTY CULTURAL CENTER IS THE ONLY ARTS AND CULTURAL ORGANIZATION OF ITS KIND IN A FIFTY-MILE RADIUS TO SERVE SO MANY CHILDREN AND ADULTS IN OUR RURAL COMMUNITY OF WYOMING COUNTY, PA AND THE SURROUNDING COUNTIES. OUR PATRONS ARE COMPRISED OF ALL AGES INCLUDING THE VERY YOUNG AND THOSE MORE ADVANCED IN YEARS. OUR FOCUS IS PROVIDING CULTURAL AND EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES TO ALL, PARTICULARLY TO THOSE WHOSE ACCESS TO IN-DEPTH STUDIES AND EXPOSURE TO THE ARTS IS LIMITED BY THEIR FINANCIAL MEANS. NO CHILD IS EVER TURNED AWAY BASED ON HIS OR HER INABILITY TO PAY. BY KEEPING OUR PROGRAMMING FREE OR AT A NOMINAL FEE, AND OFFERING NEED- BASED SCHOLARSHIPS, WE TRY TO MAKE ARTS AND EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES ACCESSIBLE TO ALL COMMUNITY MEMBERS. WE HAVE ALSO DEVELOPED CONNECTIONS WITH LOCAL SERVICE AGENCIES TO BRING PROGRAMMING TO RESIDENTS IN ASSISTED LIVING FACILITIES FOR SENIORS AND TO INTELLECTUALLY DISABLED CONSUMERS AT SERVICE ORGANIZATIONS LIKE KEYSTONE COMMUNITY RESOURCES. WE HAVE ALSO COLLABORATED WITH EARLY CHILDHOOD DEVELOPMENT AND CHILDREN'S SERVICE ORGANIZATIONS, DRUG AND ALCOHOL AWARENESS ORGANIZATIONS, THE TUNKHANNOCK AREA SCHOOL DISTRICT, THE TUNKHANNOCK PUBLIC LIBRARY AND OTHER SERVICE ORGANIZATIONS.
