PROVIDED PROGRAM SERVICES AND HOUSING ASSISTANCE, INCLUDING SOCIAL SERVICES, RENTAL ASSISTANCE, WORKSHOPS FOOD/GAS GIFT CARDS, AND ACCESS TO OUR IN-OFFICE PANTRY FOR 25 DIFFERENT FAMILIES, INCLUDING 46 CHILDREN.THE RENTAL ASSISTANCE RESULTED IN 4,166 NIGHTS OF HOMELESSNESS PREVENTION AND FAMILY STABILITY.
CASE MANAGEMENT AND INITIAL PROGRAM SERVICES FOR 5 APPLICANT FAMILIES INCLUDING 11 CHILDREN, AND RESPONSES TO OVER 144 INQUIRIES NOT ELIGIBLE FOR PROGRAM SERVICES.
NORTH STAR OF CHESTER COUNTY OPERATES AN IN-OFFICE PANTRY FOR OUR FAMILIES. 2 VOLUNTEERS MAINTAINED THE PANTRY, CHECKING ITS STOCK AND REFILLING IT AS NEEDED, LOGGING 20 HOURS OF SERVICE.
NORTH STAR WAS HEAVILY INVOLVED IN THE PLANNING AND PRODUCING OF THE CHESTER COUNTY SINGLE MOTHERS' VIRTUAL ONLINE CONFERENCE IN MAY, WHICH INCLUDED SESSIONS ON MANAGING FINANCES IN A PANDEMIC, JOB SEARCH SKILLS, COOKING, AND SELF CARE TO MORE THAN 50 SINGLE MOTHERS WHO TUNED IN. THE CONFERENCE ALSO HELD AN IN PERSON EVENT TO PROVIDE RESOURCES TO PARENTS ALONG WITH BACKPACKS THAT WERE FILLED WITH SCHOOL SUPPLIES. NORTH STAR ALSO SUPPORTED CHILDREN OF PROGRAM PARTICIPANTS, BY DISTRIBUTING DONATED WINTER COATS, SCHOOL SUPPLIES, AND CHRISTMAS GIFTS, AND BY PAYING AN AVERAGE OF 250 EACH FOR 12 CHILDREN TO ATTEND CAMP/SUMMER CARE OR PARTICIPATE IN EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES.
