MEDICAL SERVICES: EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES - WE PROVIDE EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES TO THE BOROUGH OF CARLISLE, NORTH MIDDLETON TOWNSHIP AND CARLISLE BARRACKS AND PORTIONS OF SOUTH MIDDLETON, WEST PENNSBORO, DICKINSON, LOWER FRANKFORD AND MIDDLESEX TOWNSHIPS. 8,559 EMERGENCY RESPONSES IN 2021.NON EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES - WE ALSO PROVIDE NON-EMERGENCY MEDICAL TRANSPORTATION SERVICES TO CARLISLE REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER AND THE CITIZENS OF OUR FIRST DUE TERRITORY AS REQUESTED. 2,668 NON-EMERGENCY RESPONSES IN 2021.CHAPLAIN SERVICE - OUR VOLUNTEER CHAPLAINS ROUTINELY RIDE ALONG WITH OUR CREWS DURING SEVERAL DAYLIGHT AND NIGHT SHIFTS A WEEK AND ARE ALSO AVAILABLE ON CALL AND BY SPECIAL REQUEST. THE CHAPLAIN'S ROLE IS BASICALLY ONE OF SUPPORT FOR OUR PATIENTS AND THEIR FAMILIES DURING BOTH EMERGENCY INCIDENTS AND NON-EMERGENCY TRANSPORTS, BUT THEIR ROLES HAVE EXTENDED TO OTHERS INVOLVED WITH EMERGENCY INCIDENTS TO INCLUDE EMERGENCY RESPONDERS AND THEIR FAMILIES. WHILE THE CHAPLAINS APPROACH IS PASTORAL IN NATURE, THEY APPROACH INDIVIDUALS IN A NON-PROSELYTING, NON-DENOMINATIONAL NATURE THAT OFFERS COMFORT REGARDLESS OF AN INDIVIDUAL'S FAITH.COMMUNITY TRAINING - CUMBERLAND GOODWILL OFFERS HEALTH AND SAFETY TRAINING TO THE COMMUNITY AT LARGE . MANY OF OUR PROVIDERS ARE CERTIFIED INSTRUCTORS AND WE OFFER A WIDE VARIETY OF SUBJECTS FROM BASIC FIRST AID, OXYGEN ADMINISTRATION AND CPR TO TOPICS LIKE BABYSITTER TRAINING, PET FIRST AID AND FIRE EXTINGUISHER TRAINING. ADDITIONAL TRAINING IS AVAILABLE ON A VARIETY OF HEALTH AND SAFETY TOPICS AND CAN BE PACKAGED IN DIFFERENT WAYS TO MEET THE NEEDS OF VARIOUS BUSINESSES, COMMUNITY GROUPS AND INDIVIDUALS.REHABILITATION SERVICES - WE PROVIDE REHAB SERVICES FOR EMERGENCY WORKERS AT EXTENDED EMERGENCY INCIDENTS (E.G. HAZ-MAT, STRUCTURE FIRES, STRUCTURAL COLLAPSE, EXTENDED SEARCH OPERATIONS AND MASS CASUALTY INCIDENTS) AS A SECOND ALARM RESOURCE.IN FEBRUARY 2021 CUMBERLAND GOODWILL EMS' ACCREDITATION WAS RENEWED FOR A THREE YEAR PERIOD BY THE COMMISSION ON ACCREDITATION OF AMBULANCE SERVCES (CAAS). WE ARE ONE OF ONLY FIVE PA AGENCIES AND ONE OF NEARLY ONE HUNDRED SIXTY AGENCIES NATIONWIDE TO MEET THIS "GOLD STANDARD" OF MODERN EMERGENCY MEDICAL CARE. TO ACHIEVE THIS RATING CUMBERLAND GOODWILL MET BOTH THE REMOTE AND ONSITE INSPECTION STANDARDS OF THE COMMISSION FOR PERSONNEL, COMMUNITY AND EXTERNAL RELATIONS, MEDICAL RECORDS, BILLING PROCEDURES, AND COMMUNICATION PROCESSES. THIS INDEPENDENT VOLUNTARY PROCESS ENSURES THAT THE RESIDENTS OF THE GREATER CARLISLE AREA ARE RECEIVING HIGH-QUALITY EMERGENCY CARE AND THAT PROCESSES ARE IN PLACE FOR CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT.
IN ADDITION TO THE EMERGENCY SERVICES WE PROVIDE, WE CONDUCT COMMUNITY TRAINING AND EDUCATION TO INCLUDE BASIC FIRST AID AND CPR, CHILD AND BABYSITTING SAFETY, BLOOD BORNE PATHOGENS AND VARIOUS OTHER CLASSES UPON REQUEST.
