THE AIRVILLE VOLUNTEER FIRE COMPANY PROVIDES FIRE SAFETY, EDUCATION AND PROTECTION FOR CHANCEFORD AND LOWER CHANCEFORD TOWNSHIP IN YORK COUNTY, PA. IT PROVIDES ASSISTANCE TO OTHER SURROUNDING MUNICIPALITIES, AS REQUESTED. IT IS A 100% VOLUNTEER ORGANIZATION SUPPORTED FINANCIALLY BY INDIVIDUALS, BUSINESSES AND LOCAL GOVERNMENT ENTITIES WITHIN THE COMMUNITY. THE ORGANIZATION CONSISTS OF 56 ACTIVE VOLUNTEER FIREFIGHTERS AND A SUPPORTING AUXILIARY. THEY AVERAGE 162 CALLS PER YEAR, MAINLY DEALING WITH FIRE SUPPRESSION AND TRAFFIC ACCIDENT ASSISTANCE. ALL DONATIONS RECEIVED ARE FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE FIRE COMPANY.
