PROVIDE STUDENTS, DIAGNOSED WITH AUTISM, AGES FIVE TO TWENTY ONE, WITH THE COMMUNICATION, SOCIAL, COGNITIVE AND LIFE SKILLS NECESSARY TO ENABLE THEM TO FUNCTION AS SUCCESSFULLY AND INDEPENDENTLY AS POSSIBLE IN THE LEAST RESTRICTIVE ENVIRONMENT. THE TIMOTHY SCHOOL IS RECOGNIZED FOR ITS USE OF RESEARCH-BASED MODELS, SUCH AS STRUCTURED TEACHING, APPLIED BEHAVIOR ANALYSIS, TOTAL COMMUNICATION AND POSITIVE BEHAVIORAL SUPPORTS. THE FACULTY PARTICIPATE IN TRAINING SEMINARS TO DISSEMINATE BEST PRACTICES TO THE FIELD AND PROVIDE PRE-SERVICE INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES IN SPECIAL EDUCATION, SPEECH THERAPY AND OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY TO UNDERGRADUATE AND GRADUATE STUDENTS FROM SEVERAL LOCAL COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES. PARENT TRAINING IS AN INTEGRAL COMPONENT OF THE PROGRAM TO ENABLE GENERALIZATION AND APPLICATION OF STUDENT SKILLS IN THE HOME AND COMMUNITY. STUDENTS ATTEND TIMOTHY SCHOOL FROM BERKS, BUCKS, CHESTER, DELAWARE, MONTGOMERY AND PHILADELPHIA COUNTIES. THE TIMOTHY SCHOOL ALSO PROVIDES A DAILY LIVING CENTER FOR STUDENTS FROM AGES 14-16. THE DAILY LIVING CENTER PROVIDES THESE STUDENTS WITH THE OPPORTUNITY TO LEARN/PRACTICE HOME CARE, SELF-HELP AND MONEY MANAGEMENT SKILLS IN A REAL-LIFE SETTING. THE TIMOTHY SCHOOL SECONDARY CENTER SERVES STUDENTS AGES 17-21. THE SECONDARY CENTER PROGRAM PROVIDES STUDENTS WITH THE SKILLS TO ENABLE THEM TO FUNCTION INDEPENDENTLY WITHIN THE WORKPLACE AND HOME. STUDENTS' INTERESTS AND APTITUDES GUIDE INSTRUCTION IN VOCATIONAL AND JOB TRAINING AND RECREATION.
THE ORGANIZATION CONDUCTS SEMINARS AND TRAINING FOR NUMEROUS SCHOOL DISTRICTS THROUGHOUT THE NORTHEAST CORRIDOR. THE ORGANIZATION HAS ALSO DONE PRO BONO TRAINING WORK IN FOREIGN COUNTRIES WITH THE EMPHASIS ON OUR MISSION TO ADVANCE OUR INNOVATIVE EDUCATIONAL PRACTICES IN ORDER TO MAXIMIZE THE LEARNING SUCCESS OF CHILDREN WITH AUTISM SPECTRUM DISORDERS. OUR GOAL IS TO SHARE THESE INSTRUCTIONAL METHODS AS WELL AS TO PROVIDE FIELD-BASED CONSULTATION AND SUPPORT FOR PARENTS AND PROFESSIONALS IN THE EDUCATIONAL COMMUNITY. OUT VISION REMAINS TO IMPROVE THE WORLD FOR EACH CHILD WITH AUTISM BY REACHING OUT AND SUPPORTING THE TEACHERS AND PARENTS WHO TOUCH THEIR WORLD.
