Describe the Organization's Program Activity:
THE PHILADELPHIA PROTESTANT HOME [PPH], A CONTINUING CARE RETIREMENT COMMUNITY, OFFERS A FULL CONTINUUM OF CARE FOR THOSE 62 YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER. LIVING AT PPH ALLOWS RESIDENTS TO LIVE THEIR LIVES TO THE FULLEST. THIS LIFE PLAN COMMUNITY IS TUCKED AWAY ON AN EXPANSIVE 13 ACRE CAMPUS IN A SECURE, NATURE-FILLED OASIS. IT IS IDEALLY LOCATED WITH EASY ACCESS THROUGHOUT THE CITY. PPH OFFERS A FULL RANGE OF OPTIONS INCLUDING INDEPENDENT LIVING, PERSONAL CARE, MEMORY CARE, REHABILITATION AND SKILLED NURSING. PPH IS A WELCOMING, ACCEPTING COMMUNITY OF INCLUSION, REFLECTED IN ITS DIVERSE RESIDENT POPULATION. PPH OFFERS BEAUTIFULLY LANDSCAPED GARDENS, PAVED WALKING PATHS, A BOCCE COURT AS WELL AS GARDEN SPACES FOR RESIDENTS TO GROW THEIR OWN VEGETABLES. THE INDOOR CAMPUS OFFERS VARIOUS LOUNGES AND DINING AREAS, AN ACTIVITY AND ARTS CENTER, A GREENHOUSE, A FULLY EQUIPPED FITNESS CENTER WITH A HEATED INDOOR POOL, A BOWLING ALLEY, SOCIAL HALL FOR PERFORMANCES, A CHAPEL, AND A LIBRARY. EVERY ELEMENT OF OUR CAMPUS IS DESIGNED TO ENCOURAGE AN ACTIVE AND VIBRANT LIFESTYLE THAT ENGAGES THE MIND, BODY AND SPIRIT. OTHER AMENITIES INCLUDE ON-SITE BANKING, A GIFT SHOP, PHARMACY, PRIMARY CARE MEDICAL PRACTICE AND A CONVENIENCE STORE. PPH'S MISSION IS TO PROVIDE A CARING SENIOR LIVING COMMUNITY THAT AFFORDS ITS RESIDENTS THE OPPORTUNITY TO ACHIEVE THEIR HIGHEST POSSIBLE QUALITY OF LIFE. CORE VALUES INCLUDE: INTEGRITY, QUALITY CARE, RESPECT, FRIENDLINESS, COMPASSION AND COMFORT.FINANCIAL RESOURCES: THE NURSING FACILITY, PATHWAYS, IS AN ACTIVE PARTICIPANT IN THE MEDICARE AND MEDICAID PROGRAMS AND IN 2023 52.8% OF THE NURSING HOME DAYS WERE FOR THESE TWO PROGRAMS. IN 2023, PPH SERVED OVER 400 SENIORS ON THE CAMPUS IN PERSONAL CARE, INDEPENDENT LIVING, SKILLED NURSING, AND REHABILITATION. PPH BENEVOLENT CARE SUPPORTS RESIDENTS WHO HAVE OUTLIVED THEIR FINANCIAL RESOURCES AND NO LONGER ARE ABLE TO AFFORD THEIR COST OF CARE. THE NEED FOR BENEVOLENT CARE FUNDS INCREASES EACH YEAR AND PPH PROVIDED MORE THAN $1,046,000 IN 2023, ALLOWING RESIDENTS TO REMAIN IN THE PLACE THEY CALL HOME WHILE CONTINUING TO RECEIVE THE QUALITY CARE THEY NEED AND DESERVE. PPH PROVIDES SPACE FOR MEETINGS AND EVENTS FREE OF CHARGE TO THE COMMUNITY, CHURCHES, AND CIVIC ORGANIZATIONS. PPH LEADERS PARTICIPATE IN LOCAL COMMUNITY AND BUSINESS ASSOCIATIONS. THE COMMUNITY IS INVITED TO ATTEND FREE EDUCATIONAL SEMINARS ON AGING AND WELLNESS, SUMMER CONCERTS, AND SOCIAL ACTIVITIES. BAKE SALES FOR THE ALZHEIMER'S ASSOCIATION AND RESIDENT INITIATED FOOD COLLECTIONS ARE ONGOING. THE PPH WELLNESS CENTER IS ONE OF THE FEW IN THE PHILADELPHIA AREA THAT PROVIDES ACCESS AND AFFFORDABILITY TO COMMUNITY MEMBERS WHICH INCLUDES USE OF CLASSES IN YOGA, TAI CHI, CHAIR AEROBICS, AND USE OF THE HEATED POOL AND EXERCISE EQUIPMENT. ONE CAMPUS, ONE SUPPORTIVE TEAM, ONE FAMILY. LONG EMPLOYEE TENURES, SO MUCH SO THAT MANY CHOOSE PPH AFTER RETIREMENT. PPH ENGAGES VOLUNTEERS ONSITE INCLUDING OVER 155 VOLUNTEERS, 122 RESIDENTS, 21 COMMUNITY VOLUNTEERS PROVIDING 22,240 VOLUNTEER HOURS WITH A RECOGNITION EVENT HELD DURING THE NATIONAL OBSERVANCE MONTH.MANY SPECIAL ACTIVITIES AND PROGRAMS ARE COORDINATED AT PPH INCLUDING: "REMEMBERING PEARL HARBOR" FLAG RAISING, VETERANS GROUP, PROGRAMS TO HONOR BLACK HISTORY MONTH AND WOMAN'S HISTORY MONTH, MONTHLY PRAYER BREAKFAST, EASTER EGG HUNT, ORGANIZED TRIPS, EXHIBITIONS, EXCURSIONS, JUNETEENTH CELEBRATION, A SPECIAL EVENT "DREAM FLIGHTS" FOR VETERANS IN 2023, A CAMPUS-WIDE SMILE DAY CELEBRATION, DANCE PARTIES, ART SHOW, PERFORMANCE OF THE PHILADELPHIA BOYS CHOIR, AND BOCCE BALL TOURNAMENT IN 2023.
