LANDIS HOMES IS A CONTINUING CARE RETIREMENT COMMUNITY SERVING THE AGING POPULATION BY PROVIDING HOUSING, HEALTHCARE, AND RELATED SERVICES ON A 114-ACRE CAMPUS SURROUNDED BY PRESERVED FARMLAND. LANDIS HOMES IS HOME TO ALMOST 900 PERSONS LIVING IN HYBRID HOMES, COTTAGES, APARTMENTS, SUITES, PERSONAL CARE, HEALTHCARE, AND HERITAGE SPECIAL CARE (PERSONS WITH MEMORY LOSS). AVERAGE OCCUPANCY FOR FISCAL 2021 WAS AS FOLLOWS FOR THE YEAR DESPITE DECLINING CENSUS DUE TO COVID RESTRICTIONS: RESIDENTIAL LIVING - 97%, PERSONAL CARE - 86%, AND SKILLED NURSING - 81%. LANDIS HOMES PROVIDES CHARITY CARE TO RESIDENTS WHO MEET CERTAIN CRITERIA WITHOUT CHARGE OR AT AMOUNTS LESS THAN ESTABLISHED RATES. IN 2021 CHARITY CARE, WHICH REPRESENTS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE ESTIMATED COST OF PROVIDING CARE AND THE PAYMENTS RECEIVED FOR SERVICES RENDERED, TOTALED $3,551,000. LANDIS HOMES ALSO HOSTS A MEMORY SUPPORT AND A PARKINSON'S SUPPORT GROUP; BOTH PROGRAMS ARE OPEN TO THE PUBLIC COMMUNITY. VOLUNTEERS PROVIDE VARIOUS SERVICES FOR THE ORGANIZATION.
