THE EXEMPT PURPOSE OF THE THORNDALE VOLUNTEER FIRE CO IS TO PROVIDE FIRE PROTECTION AND PUBLIC SAFETY TO CALN TOWNSHIP LOCATED IN CHESTER COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA AND SURROUNDING COMMUNITIES.

PROVIDING SOCIAL CLUB FOR THE VOLUNTEER FIREMEN TO FOSTER COMRADERY. THE SOCIAL CLUB IS RESTRICTED TO THE MEMBERSHIP OF THE THORNDALE VOLUNTEER FIRE COMPANY. MAJOR EXPENSES OF THE CLUB ARE PAYROLL AND COST OF GOODS.THE SOCIAL CLUB HAD REDUCED OPERATIONS DURING 2021 DUE TO COVID PROTOCOLS.
THE THORNDALE VOLUNTEER PROVIDES FIRE AND SAFETY PROTECTION FOR THE COMMUNITIES OF THORNDALE AND CALN TOWNSHIP. DURING 2021 THE THORNDALE VOLUNTEER FIRE COMPANY RESPONDING TO 516 FIRE ALARMS. THE FIRE COMPANY ALSO RESPONDED TO 598 QRS (MEDICAL ASSISTANCE) ALARMS FOLLOWING COVID PROTOCOLS; AN AVERAGE 61 FIRE FIGHTERS PUT IN 4267 HOURS OF TRAINING AND IN SERVICE ACTIVITIES DESPITE THE COVID RESTRICTIONS. CALN TOWNSHIP OWNS THE FIRE APPARATUS USED BY THE THORNDALE VOLUNTEER FIRE COMPANY. THE TOWNSHIP PROVIDES FOR THE FUEL AND MAINTENANCE OF THE FIRE APPARATUS.
