THE PENNSYLVANIA ACADEMY OF OTOLARYNGOLOGY HEAD AND NECK SURGERY SERVES THE COMMON PROFESSIONAL INTERESTS OF OTOLARYNGOLOGISTS AND THEIR PATIENTS IN PENNSYLVANIA. 1. THE ACADEMY HOSTS AN ANNUAL SCIENTIFIC MEETING WITH SESSIONS THAT ADDRESS CURRENT TOPICS IN OTOLARYNGOLOGY. THE 2023 MEETING OFFERED PHYSICIANS WHO ATTENDED UP TO 7 CONTINUING MEDICAL EDUCATION CREDITS. THERE WERE MORE THAN 95 PHYSICIAN ATTENDEES AT THE 2023 MEETING. 2. THE ACADEMY PRODUCES TWO NEWSLETTERS A YEAR THAT CONTAIN SCIENTIFIC ARTICLES SUBMITTED BY MEMBERS, REPORTS FROM THE PENNSYLVANIA MEDICAL SOCIETY AND AMERICAN ACADEMY OF OTOLARYNGOLOGY HEAD AND NECK SURGERY, AND LEGISLATIVE UPDATES. 3. THE ACADEMY ENGAGES IN DIALOGUE WITH THIRD-PARTY PAYERS ON REIMBURSEMENT ISSUES IMPACTING THE PRACTICE OF OTOLARYNGOLOGY.
