TO PROMOTE RESEARCH IN THE FIELD OF LAW AND ECONOMICS THROUGH THE ASSOCIATION'S ANNUAL MEETING AND ITS ACADEMIC JOURNAL THE "AMERICAN LAW AND ECONOMICS REVIEW."

WHILE THE ASSOCIATION TYPICALLY HOLDS AN ANNUAL MEETING FOR ITS MEMBERS WE WERE FORCED AFTER POSTPONING SEVERAL TIMES BECAUSE OF COVID TO CANCEL OUR 2020 ANNUAL MEETING. FOR 2021 WE DID END UP HAVING OUR ANNUAL MEETING BUT IT WAS HELD VIA ZOOM.


THE ASSOCIATION PUBLISHES AN ACADEMIC JOURNAL CALLED THE "AMERICAN LAW AND ECONOMICS REVIEW" KNOWN AS THE "ALER". THE ASSOCIATION TYPICALLY PUBLISHES TWO ISSUES A YEAR: SPRING AND FALL. THE ALER IS PROVIDED TO OUR MEMBERS AS PART OF THEIR YEARLY MEMBERSHIP BENEFITS. THE PUBLISHER OF THE ALER IS OXFORD UNIVERSITY PRESS AND WE PUBLISH ACADEMIC ARTICLES SUBMITTED BY OUR MEMBERS. WE ALSO AWARD A PRIZE IN THE AMOUNT OF $2,500 EACH FOR THE BEST THEORETICAL AND THE BEST EMPIRICAL ARTICLE PUBLISHED IN THE PRECEDING YEAR.
