MAP BEHAVIORAL HEALTH SERVICES IS A MINORITY OPERATED, STATE LICENSED NON- PROFIT BEHAVIORAL HEALTH TREATMENT PROGRAM IN THE HEART OF PROVIDENCE, RHODE ISLAND. THE MISSION IS TO REDUCE THE INCIDENCE AND NEGATIVE IMPACTS ASSOCIATED WITH SUBSTANCE ABUSE, HIV/AIDS, MENTAL HEALTH AND OTHER PUBLIC HEALTH THREATS FOR THE CLIENTS WE SERVE IN RHODE ISLAND AND THE NEW ENGLAND AREA. OUR SERVICES AIM TO IMPROVE AND ENHANCE THE SOCIAL, EMOTIONAL AND REHABILITATIVE NEEDS OF OUR CLIENTS.

Part 3 - Line 4a
COMPREHENSIVE HEALTH TREATMENT PROGRAM THAT INCLUDES RESIDENTIAL AND OUTPATIENT PROGRAMS. THE PROGRAM IS A LONG-TERM HIGHLY STRUCTED TREATMENT PROGRAM DESIGNED TO BRING ABOUT CHANGE IN THE WAY CLIENTS THINK AND BEHAVE. THIS IS ACCOMPLISHED THROUGH INDIVIDUAL AND GROUP COUNSELING AS WELL AS A CONFRONTIVE ATMOSPHERE THAT ALLOWS CLIENTS TO TAKE RISKS IN A SAFE AND THERAPEUTIC ENVIRONMENT. THE PROGRAM IS ALSO DESIGNED TO ASSIST INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES TO MAINTAIN SOBRIETY WHILE CONTINUING TO LIVE AND WORK IN THEIR COMMUNITY. IT ALSO SERVES AS A AFTERCARE PROGRAM FOR INDIVIDUALS WHO HAVE COMPLETED A MORE STRUCTURED TYPE OF PROGRAM, I.E. INPATIENT, RESIDENTIAL OR DAY TREATMENT. THE PROGRAM SERVED APPROXIMATELY 140 INDIVIDUALS. THE PROGRAM ALSO PROVIDES HIV/AIDS PREVENTION FOR MINORITY POPULATIONS BY EDUCATIONS.
