SUBSTANCE ABUSE TREATMENT SERVICES - SSTAR-RI OPERATES A RESIDENTIAL SUBSTANCE ABUSE PROGRAM IN CRANSTON, RHODE ISLAND SPECIFICALLY DESIGNED FOR PREGNANT, POSTPARTUM AND PARENTING WOMEN. THIS PROGRAM IS KNOWN AS SSTARBIRTH. THE SSTARBIRTH PROGRAM PROVIDES GENDER-SENSITIVE SERVICES THAT FOCUS ON A WOMAN'S SOURCES OF STRENGTH AND RESILENCY. SSTARBIRTH PROGRAM SERVICES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: INDIVIDUAL COUNSELING, PSYCHIATRIC EVALUATIONS AND MEDICATION MANAGEMENT, GROUP THERAPY, SUBSTANCE ABUSE EDUCATION, RELAPSE PREVENTION, ONSITE LICENSED DAYCARE, TRANSITIONAL SUPPORT AND CONTINUING CARE. THE PROGRAM ALLOWS FOR SIX MONTHS OF TREATMENT AND HAS THE CAPACITY FOR 14 WOMEN AND 14 CHILDREN.
