ISES ENCOURAGES THE OPEN EXCHANGE OF INFORMATION, PROVIDES OPPORTUNITIES FOR CAREER DEVELOPMENT, AND ACKNOWLEDGES AND PROMOTES EXCELLENCE IN THE PRACTICE OF EXPOSURE ASSESSMENTS AND RESEARCH IN THE FIELD OF EXPOSURE SCIENCE.

ANNUAL CONFERENCES (INCLUDING CONFERENCE MANAGMENT): ISES HOLDS AN ANNUAL CONFERENCE EACH YEAR. THE ANNUAL CONFERENCE BRINGS TOGETHER SCIENTISTS FROM THROUGHOUT THE WORLD TO EXCHANGE IDEAS AND METHODS FOR RESEARCH IN EXPOSURE SCIENCE. IT PROVIDES A FORUM FOR COMMUNICATION OF CURRENT EPIDEMIOLOGIC RESEARCH, FACILITATES INTERNATIONAL COLLABORATION IN RESEARCH AND TRAINING, AND HIGHLIGHTS EMERGING GLOBAL ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH ISSUES, MOST ISES ANNUAL CONFERENCES ARE HELD IN THE UNITED STATES, APPROXIMATELY EVERY THREE TO FOUR YEARS THE CONFERENCE IS HELD OUTSIDE NORTH AMERICA TO PROVIDE ACCESS FOR THE INTERNATIONAL MEMBERSHIP.
OFFICIAL JOURNAL: THE OFFICIAL JOURNAL OF ISES IS THE JOURNAL OF EXPOSURE SCIENCE AND ENVIRONMENTAL EPIDEMIOLOGY. ALL MEMBERS RECEIVE A ONE YEAR ONLINE-ONLY SUBSCRIPTION TO THIS BI-MONTHLY, PEER REVIEWED JOURNAL FOR EACH YEAR OF MEMBERSHIP. MEMBERS OF THE SOCIETY MAINTAIN EDITORIAL CONTROL OF THE JOURNAL. THE EDITOR-IN-CHIEF AND ASSOCIATE EDITORS ARE SOCIETY MEMBERS. THE SOCIETY PAYS THE JOURNAL PUBLISHER, SPRINGERNATURE, A PER-COPY COST FOR EACH ISSUE PROVIDED TO THE MEMBERS. THERE IS NO DIFFERENCE IN THE COST FROM PROVIDING THE ISSUE TO MEMBERS INSIDE OR OUTSIDE THE UNITED STATES.
OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES: STUDENT AND NEW RESEARCHER TRAVEL AND ACHIEVEMENT AWARDS-AN ACTIVE STUDENT AND NEW RESEARCHER COMMITTEE ORGANIZES A SPECIAL RECOGNITION AT THE ISES ANNUAL CONFERENCE FOR STUDENT ABSTRACTS AND PROMOTES INTERACTION WITH PEERS AND MENTORS DURING THE CONFERENCE AND THROUGH THE INTERNET THROUGHOUT THE YEAR. ISES PROVIDES TRAVEL AWARDS TO ISES STUDENTS AND NEW RESEARCHER MEMBERS ATTENDING THE CONFERENCE AND PRESENTING THEIR SCIENTIFIC WORK THROUGH POSTERS AND ABSTRACTS. A POSTER COMPETITION FOR ISES STUDENTS ALSO PROVIDES CASH AWARDS FOR THE MOST OUTSTANDING POSTER PRESENTATIONS. SCIENTIFIC ACHIEVEMENT AWARDS PROGRAM-ISES RECOGNIZES OUTSTANDING SCIENTISTS WITH FOUR AWARDS. MOST OF THESE ARE AWARDED ANNUALLY. NOMINATIONS FOR EACH OF THESE AWARDS ARE SOLICITED ANNUALLY FROM THE MEMBERSHIP, AND THE AWARDS ARE PRESENTED AT THE ANNUAL ISES CONFERENCE. THE ISES AWARDS COMMITTEE PUBLICIZES THE AWARDS THROUGH THE SOCIETY WEBSITE, E-MAIL, AND OTHER CHANNELS, REVIEWS AND SELECTS THE AWARDEES, AND ADMINISTERS THE AWARDS. THE JEROME J. WESOLOWSKI AWARD RECOGNIZES OUTSTANDING CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE KNOWLEDGE AND PRACTICE OF HUMAN EXPOSURE ASSESSMENT. THE AWARDEE RECEIVES 2,500 AND PRESENTS THE WESOLOWSKI LECTURE AT THE ISES ANNUAL CONFERENCE. THE JOAN M. DAISEY OUTSTANDING YOUNG SCIENTIST AWARD RECOGNIZES OUTSTANDING CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE SCIENCE OF HUMAN EXPOSURE ANALYSIS BY A YOUNG SCIENTIST. THE AWARDEE RECEIVES AN ISES MEMBERSHIP FOR ONE YEAR AND 1,000. THE CONSTANCE L. MEHLMAN AWARD RECOGNIZES OUTSTANDING CONTRIBUTIONS IN EXPOSURE ANALYSIS RESEARCH THAT HELPED SHAPE A NATIONAL OR STATE POLICY OR THAT PROVIDED NEW APPROACHES FOR REDUCTION OR PREVENTION EXPOSURES. THIS AWARD IS PRESENTED EVERY OTHER YEAR OR LESS FREQUENTLY, BASED ON NOMINATIONS RECEIVED. THE AWARDEE RECEIVES 2,000.
