ADVANCED PROTOTYPING MANUFACTURING FACILITY - TINKERMILL PROVIDES AN INDUSTRIAL FACILITY WHICH INCLUDES TOOLS, EQUIPMENT, AND MATERIALS FOR EMERGING ADVANCED INDUSTRY BUSINESS ENTREPRENEURS, STEAM STUDENTS, AND MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC TO EXPLORE CREATIVE, SCIENTIFIC, EDUCATIONAL, AND ENTREPRENEURIAL PROJECTS AND IDEAS. THE CAPABILITIES OF THIS FACILITY INCLUDE FULL CNC METALWORKING, PROFESSIONAL WOODWORKING, ELECTRONICS AND ELECTRICAL DESIGN, SOFTWARE, METALCASTING, CERAMICS, 3D PRINTING, LASER CUTTING, AND A FULL RANGE OF WELDING. BY PROVIDING THIS FACILITY, TINKERMILL HAS GROWN A COMMUNITY OF CAREER PROFESSIONALS FROM EXISTING ADVANCED INDUSTRY IN THE GREATER LONGMONT AND BOULDER AREAS.
CREATIVE EDUCATIONAL WORKSHOPS - TINKERMILL OFFERS EDUCATIONAL WORKSHOPS TO ANYONE WHO IS INTERESTED IN THE FIELDS OF SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY, ENGINEERING, ART AND MATH (OR STEAM). THE PROGRAM FOSTERS CREATIVITY AND ENCOURAGES CREATION OF NEW PRODUCTS AND TOOLS. ACTIVITIES INCLUDE EDUCATION AND INSTRUCTION ON PROTOTYPE DEVELOPMENT AND CREATION, AS WELL AS BASIC ELECTRONICS, ROBOTICS, PROGRAMMING, AND MORE. WE ALSO PROVIDE ACCESS TO WOODWORKING AND METALWORKING TOOLS FOR PROTOTYPE CREATION. EACH WORKSHOP IS DEDICATED TO A CERTAIN SKILL SET BASED ON COMMUNITY INTEREST AND NEED. TINKERMILL HOLDS APPROXIMATELY 100 WORKSHOPS AND EVENTS EACH MONTH SERVING OVER 1,800 MEMBERS OF THE COMMUNITY. THE WORKSHOPS TYPICALLY LAST BETWEEN ONE AND TWO HOURS AND ARE TYPICALLY LED BY VOLUNTEERS WHO ARE PROFESSIONALS IN THEIR FIELD WITH THE GOAL TO SHARE THEIR KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS. OUR WORKSHOPS ARE OPEN TO YOUTH AND ADULTS AND ARE HELD IN OUR FACILITY. CLASSES ARE AVAILABLE AT EXTREMELY LOW-COST OR ARE FREE OF CHARGE AND WE PUBLICIZE OUR EVENTS THROUGH SCHOOLS, COLLEGES, CHURCHES, AND COMMUNITY CENTERS. OUR FACILITY IS OPEN 7 DAYS A WEEK AND ANYONE WITH THE APPROPRIATE SAFETY TRAINING CAN COME IN AND USE OUR FACILITY AND MOST OF OUR TOOL EQUIPMENT FREE OF CHARGE. WE CONTINUE TO ACQUIRE POWER TOOLS, HAND TOOLS, MACHINERY, COMPUTERS, AND CUTTING-EDGE SOFTWARE WHICH INTRODUCES NEW TECHNOLOGY TO THE COMMUNITY, AND ENCOURAGES EDUCATION, EXPERIMENTATION, AND COLLABORATION.
ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT - THE COMMUNITY OF ADVANCED INDUSTRY PROFESSIONALS THAT HAS DEVELOPED AT TINKERMILL ENSURE ACCESSIBLE TECHNICAL AND COMMERCIAL EXPERTISE FOR EARLY-STAGE ENTREPRENEURS AND PROVIDES A CONNECTION TO INDIVIDUAL AND GROUP INVESTORS.
