THE MOUNTAIN TOP LEAGUE IS A VOLUNTEER ORGANIZATION WHICH PROVIDES THE CHILDREN OF WEST ORANGE, NJ WITH RECREATIONAL PROGRAMS IN BASEBALL, TRAVEL BASEBALL, BASKETBALL, SOCCER, TRAVEL SOCCER, HOCKEY AND OTHER PROGRAMS THE TRUSTEES DEEM WORTHWHILE FOR THE CHILDREN OF WEST ORANGE.

OUR HOCKEY PROGRAM HAS DEMONSTRATED AN INCREASED INTEREST IN TOWN FOR THE SPORT AND INCREASE THE LEVEL AND NUMBER OF PLAYERS AT THE HIGH SCHOOL LEVEL. ONE OF OUR VOLUNTEERS HAS BEEN NAMED TOPSOCCER VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR BY NJ YOUTH SOCCER, RECOGNIZING OUR CLUB'S EFFORT IN REACHING OUT TO SPECIAL NEEDS CHILDREN. WE HAVE INCREASED OUR RECREATION SOCCER OFFERING WITH ADDITIONAL SPRING AND SUMMER PROGRAMS. WE HAVE INSTITUTED A LEAGUE-WIDE BACKGROUND CHECK EFFORT TO ENHANCE THE PLAYERS SAFETY. ALL OF OUR COACHES ARE NOW BACKGROUND CHECKED AND TRAINED IN SAFETY AWARENESS IN A SYSTEMATIC MANNER BY A THIRD PARTY NATIONAL COMPANY.
SPORTSMANSHIP, FAIRNESS, GROWTH/DEVELOPMENT AND ENJOYMENT OF THE CHILDREN ARE SOME OF THE VALUES THAT DRIVE OUR DEDICATION AND PHILOSOPHY. IT IS OUR INTENTION TO PROVIDE EACH CHILD WITH THE OPPORTUNITY TO PARTICIPATE IN ALL GAMES.IN ADDITION, SOME OF OUR OTHER GOALS INCLUDE: - HELPING BUILD CHARACTER - TEACHING GOOD SPORTSMANSHIP - PRACTICING PRINCIPALS OF FAIR PLAY - PROVIDING PHYSICAL FITNESS - HAVING FUN
TOPSOCCER (THE OUTREACH PROGRAM FOR SOCCER) IS A COMMUNITY-BASED TRAINING AND TEAM PLACEMENT PROGRAM FOR YOUNG ATHLETES WITH SPECIAL NEEDS.
