THE ASSOCIATION'S MISSION IS TO PROMOTE THE OPERATION, OWNERSHIP, AND ENJOYMENT OF PRIVATELY OWNED PASSENGER CARS.

IN 2018 AMTRAK SEVERLY LIMITED ACCESS TO THEIR TRAINS AND SWITCHING LOCATIONS OF PRIVATE CARS ON THEIR SYSTEM. AMTRAK HAS ALSO INCREASED THE CHARGES TO MEMBERS OF OPERATING THIER CARS ON AMTRAK'S SYSTEM. THE ASSOCIATION IS VIGEROUSLY PURSUING OPTIONS AVAILABLY AND WILL CONTINUE TO STRONGLY ADVOCATE THE OPERATION OF MEMBERS CARS ON AMTRAK AND AMTRAK OPERATED SPECIAL TRAINS. THE ASSOCIATION ALSO WORKS CLOSELY WITH FREIGHT AND COMMUTER RAILROADS FOR THE OPERATION OF OUR CARS.
WE HAVE AN ANNUAL CONVENTION AND PERIODIC MEETINGS OF MEMBERS FOR THE PROMOTION OF SAFETY AND THE PRESERVATION OF HISTORIC RAILROAD CARS. THE CONVENTION THIS YEAR WAS HELD IN BURLINGTON VERMONT SEPTMEBER 20 TO 30, 2021 AT THE HILTON BURLINGTON LAKE CHAMPLAIN HOTEL.
AAPRCO RAN A SPECIAL TRAIN WITH MEMBERS CARS ARRIVING ON AMTRAK IN ALBANY NEW YORK. WHERE THEY WERE ASSEMBLED FOR A SPECIAL TRAIN TO OUR ANNUAL CONVENTION HELD THIS YEAR IN BURLINGTON VERMONT. THE SPECIAL DEPARTED SEPTEMBER 26 FROM ALBANY TRAVELING TO VERMONT WITH AN OVERNIGHT DESTNATION OF NORTH BENNINGTON THE FIRST DAY. THE NEXT DAY, THE 27TH THE SPECIAL TRAVELED THROUGH MANCHESTER AND RUTLAND ARRIVING IN BELLOW FALLS FOR THE EVENING. THE NEXT THE SPECIAL TRAVELED TO THE CONVENTION SITE IN BURLINGTON, VERMONT. AFTER THE CONVENTION THE SPECIAL TRAVELED BACK TO ALBANY TO BE FORWARDED TO AMTRAK FOR THEIR JOURNEYS HOME.
