SEE SCHEDULE O.ACTIVITY 1:CJM AUDIENCESIN FISCAL YEAR 2021, THE CJM ACCOMPLISHED ITS MISSION TO MAKE THE DIVERSITY OF JEWISH EXPERIENCE RELEVANT TO TWENTY FIRST CENTURY AUDIENCES THROUGH ITS EXHIBITIONS, EDUCATION PROGRAMS, AND THE STRATEGIC DISTRIBUTION OF DIGITAL MEDIA. DUE TO THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC, THE CJM WAS REQUIRED TO BE TEMPORARILY CLOSED FOR 8 OF THE 12 MONTHS OF THE FISCAL YEAR. PROGRAMMING, EDUCATIONAL TOURS AND OTHER ACTIVITIES CONTINUED ON VIRTUAL PLATFORMS THROUGHOUT THE FISCAL YEAR.KEY FISCAL YEAR 2021 METRICS INCLUDE: 424,426 ONLINE VISITORS 3,278 ON-SITE VISITORS (THE CJM REOPENED TO THE PUBLIC BETWEEN OCTOBER 15 AND NOVEMBER 28, 2020; AND RE-OPENED AGAIN ON APRIL 15, 2021. THE CJM HAS REMAINED OPEN SINCE THAT TIME.) EXHIBITIONSFY 2021 EXHIBITIONS AND ARTIST PROGRAMS COVERED A WIDE RANGE OF ART AND ARTISTS. LEVI STRAUSS: A HISTORY OF AMERICAN STYLE. (FEBRUARY 1, 2020 - AUGUST 8, 2021) USING THE INVENTION OF THE BLUE JEAN AS A LENS THROUGH WHICH TO VIEW NINETEENTH AND TWENTIETH CENTURY AMERICA, THIS EXHIBITION FOLLOWED JEWISH IMMIGRANT LEVI STRAUSS'S JOURNEY FROM BAVARIA TO CALIFORNIA AND THE POPULARIZATION OF BLUE JEANS TO THE PRESENT. THE EXHIBITION FEATURED THE LARGEST PUBLIC DISPLAY OF MATERIALS FROM THE LEVI STRAUSS & CO. ARCHIVES EVER PRESENTED, TOGETHER WITH CLOTHING AND DOCUMENTS FROM OTHER PUBLIC AND PRIVATE COLLECTIONS.PREDICTING THE PAST: ZOHAR STUDIOS, THE LOST YEARS. (MARCH 12, 2020 JUNE 27, 2021) PHOTOGRAPHER STEPHEN BERKMAN, FASCINATED BY VICTORIAN CULTURE AND TECHNOLOGY, WORKED WITH EARLY PHOTOGRAPHY TOOLS AND TECHNIQUES TO CREATE INTRIGUING INSTALLATIONS THAT CHALLENGED OUR IDEAS OF THE PAST, PRESENT, AND FUTURE. MERGING ART AND SCIENCE THIS EXHIBITION'S PHOTOGRAPHS EXPLORED JEWISH LIFE AND THE STATE OF SCIENTIFIC UNDERSTANDING OVER 100 YEARS AGO.THREADS OF JEWISH LIFE: RITUAL AND OTHER TEXTILES FROM THE SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA. (FEBRUARY 13, 2020 JUNE 27, 2021). THIS EXHIBITION DREW EXTENSIVELY FROM THE HOLDINGS OF THE MAGNES COLLECTION OF JEWISH ART AND LIFE (UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA, BERKELEY) TO SHOWCASE LATE NINETEENTH AND EARLY TWENTIETH CENTURY JUDAICA FROM THE SAN FRANCISCO JEWISH COMMUNITY. WHAT WE HOLD: A YOUTH AUDIO PROJECT. (APRIL 19, 2020 APRIL 1, 2021). WHAT SHAPES US? WHICH FAMILY HISTORIES BECOME OUR CORE STORIES? HOW DO WE MAKE THEM OUR OWN? IN THIS ONLINE AUDIO EXHIBITION, TEENS RANGING IN AGE FROM 15 TO 18 YEARS OLD CREATED INDIVIDUAL AUDIO RECORDINGS REFLECTING ON AND CONNECTING WITH THEIR FAMILIES' STORIES OF MIGRATION, RESILIENCE, ACCEPTANCE, IDENTITY AND PASSION. THE AUDIO EXHIBITION WAS VISITED BY 4,500+ ONLINE VISITORS DURING FY 2021. PROGRAM AND EDUCATION HIGHLIGHTSTHE CJM IS AMONG THE BAY AREA'S MOST IMPORTANT ARTS AND JEWISH EDUCATION RESOURCES FOR K-12 STUDENTS AND TEACHERS. ALL TOURS AND ACCOMPANYING ARTMAKING WORKSHOPS ARE FREE. DURING FY 2021, K-12 SCHOOL PROGRAMS WERE ONLINE ONLY. INTERACTIVE TOURS OF EXHIBITIONS AND THE CJM'S BUILDING LED BY PROFESSIONAL EDUCATORS WERE THE CENTERPIECE OF THE PROGRAM. ONLINE CURRICULUM RESOURCES ENHANCED TEACHERS' ABILITY TO INCORPORATE TOUR CONTENT IN THE CLASSROOM. ONLINE ART MAKING WORKSHOPS DEEPENED STUDENTS LEARNING AND FOSTER CREATIVITY.ACCESS PROGRAMSTHE CJM OFFERS A WIDE ARRAY OF ACCESS PROGRAMS OFFERED FREE OF CHARGE TO FULFILL A COMMUNITY NEED FOR HIGH-QUALITY, INDIVIDUALIZED OPPORTUNITIES FOR SENIORS AND PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES. IN FISCAL YEAR 2021, THE CJM CONTINUED THIS LONGSTANDING DEDICATION TO ACCESSIBILITY, EXPANDING AN ALREADY EXTENSIVE RANGE OF PROGRAMMING FOR VISITORS WITH INTELLECTUAL, PHYSICAL, OR SOCIAL BARRIERS TO PARTICIPATION. THESE ACTIVITIES MOVED ONLINE FOR THE FULL FISCAL YEAR. TEEN PROGRAMSTHE CENTERPIECE OF THE CJM'S TEEN PROGRAMS IS THE TEEN ART CONNECT (TAC) INTERNSHIP, A YEARLONG, PAID INTERNSHIP AT THE CJM THAT PROVIDES HANDS-ON WORK EXPERIENCE, APPRENTICESHIPS, PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOPS, AND SKILL-BUILDING ARTS ACTIVITIES. NINE TAC INTERNS PLANNED AND PRODUCED A SERIES OF EVENTS FOR THEIR PEERS ABOUT JEWISH CULTURE AND ART. THE TAC INTERNSHIPS AND OTHER CJM TEEN PROGRAMS MOVED TO ONLINE ONLY WITH THE TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF THE MUSEUM. FAMILY PROGRAMS FAMILY ARTBASH SUNDAYS ARE THE CJM'S PROGRAM FOR CHILDREN AGES 1 THROUGH 12 AND THEIR FAMILIES. PRESENTED ONLINE DUE TO PANDEMIC SAFETY PROTOCOLS, WORKSHOPS AND ARTMAKING ACTIVITIES RELATED TO EXHIBITIONS AND JEWISH HOLIDAYS WERE FREE OF CHARGE. THE ZIM ZOOM FAMILY ROOM, A DEDICATED SPACE FOR INTERGENERATIONAL ART ACTIVITIES FOR PRESCHOOLERS AND FAMILIES, RE-OPENED IN A MODIFIED FORMAT DURING ALL PUBLIC HOURS STARTING APRIL 15, 2021.
