Describe the Organization's Program Activity:

Part 3 - Line 4a

THE HOPEWELL MUSEUM CONTINUED ITS MISSION TO TELL THE STORY OF THE HOPEWELL VALLEY FROM PRE-COLONIAL TIMES TO THE PRESENT. WE ARE NOW PLANNING FOR A FACILITIES RENOVATION AND EXPANSION TO BROADEN OUR CAPACITY FOR EXHIBITIONS, EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMMING, AND HISTORICAL RESEARCH. WE ARE ALSO WORKING WITH DIFFERENT GROUPS TO SERVE THE COMMUNITY IN MORE IMMEDIATE WAYS, BY COSPONSORING PUBLIC PRESENTATIONS WITH HOPEWELL VALLEY HISTORICAL SOCIETY AND LOCAL LIBRARIES, AND COLLABORATING WITH THE SCHOOL DISTRICT ON CLASSROOM WORKSHOPS ABOUT NATIVE AMERICAN CULTURE USING OUR ARTIFACT COLLECTIONS. IN MAY WE SPONSORED HOPEWELL VALLEY HERITAGE WEEK, WHICH FEATURED BOTH IN-PERSON AND VIRTUAL PROGRAMS. THROUGHOUT THE YEAR OUR ARCHIVIST ASSISTED LOCAL HISTORIANS AND GENEALOGISTS IN PERSON AND REMOTELY. IN DECEMBER 2023, WE HELD A HOLIDAY OPEN HOUSE SO THAT WE COULD SHARE INFORMATION ABOUT OUR MANY CATALOGING AND PRESERVATION PROJECTS NOW UNDERWAY. FINALLY, AND PERHAPS MOST SIGNIFICANTLY, IN JANUARY OF THIS YEAR WE HIRED OUR FIRST EVER EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR.
