Describe the Organization's Program Activity:
Part 3 - Line 4a
THE HOPEWELL MUSEUM CONTINUED ITS MISSION TO TELL THE STORY OF THE HOPEWELL VALLEY FROM PRE-COLONIAL TIMES TO THE PRESENT. AS COVID-19 RESTRICTIONS WERE IN PLACE FOR MUCH OF THE YEAR, WE FOUND NEW AND CREATIVE WAYS TO REACH OUR COMMUNITY. WORKING WITH THE SCHOOL DISTRICT, WE PROVIDED VIRTUAL PRESENTATIONS IN THE CLASSROOM ON LOCAL LENAPE CULTURE USING OUR ARTIFACT COLLECTIONS. IN MAY WE COSPONSORED HOPEWELL VALLEY HERITAGE WEEK, WHICH FEATURED BOTH IN-PERSON AND VIRTUAL PROGRAMS. THROUGHOUT THE YEAR, OUR ARCHIVIST ASSISTED RESEARCHERS REMOTELY, AND THEN ONSITE BY APPOINTMENT BEGINNING IN THE FALL. IN DECEMBER 2021, WE HELD AN OUTDOOR HOLIDAY TEA EVENT IN COLLABORATION WITH THE OLD SCHOOL BAPTIST CHURCH. WE ALSO COMMENCED A MAJOR PROJECT TO CATALOG OUR ARCHAEOLOGICAL COLLECTIONS, EMPLOYING AN UNDERGRADUATE INTERN FROM THE COLLEGE OF NEW JERSEY.
