THE SOCIETY IS A MEMBERSHIP ORGANIZATION OF PHYSICIANS THAT ADMINISTERS MEMBER SERVICES AND ORGANIZES CONFERENCES AND SEMINARS FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE MEMBERS.

THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES BEGAN WORK ON ITS JUSTICE, EQUITY, DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION (JEDI) PROGRAM TO ADDRESS DISPARITIES AND INEQUITIES IN HEALTHCARE SERVICE DELIVERY, ACCESS AND OUTCOMES. THE BOARD ESTABLISHED A STANDING COMMITTEE CHAIRED BY CAMILLE GREEN, MD AND ROBERT LIKE, MD.
THE SOCIETY CONTINUED TO ADVOCATE FOR REFORM OF ONEROUS PRIOR AUTHORIZATION PROGRAMS THAT CAUSE PATIENTS TO DELAY OR ABANDON HEALTHCARE SERVICES. THE SOCIETY ENGAGED DIRECTLY WITH HEALTH INSURERS REFORM PRIOR AUTHORIZATION PRACTICES.
THE SOCIETY PARTICIPATED IN SEVERAL LAWSUITS CONCERNING THE USE OF MISLEADING SCIENTIFIC STUDIES REGARDING THE TRANSMISSIBILITY OF THE COVID 19 VIRUS. THE SOCIETY'S AMICUS BRIEFS BROUGHT THE KNOWN SCIENCE ON INFECTION CONTROL BEFORE THE NJ SUPREME COURT.
