POLICY EFFORTS: BLUE PLANET FOUNDATION PARTICIPATED IN SHAPING POLICY THROUGH INTERVENING IN CLEAN ENERGY-RELATED DOCKETS BEFORE THE HAWAII PUBLIC UTILITIES COMMISSION AND ADVANCING CLEAN ENERGY AND CLIMATE BILLS AT THE HAWAII LEGISLATURE. BLUE PLANET FOUNDATION RETAINED AN ATTORNEY AND AN EXPERT UTILITY CONSULTANTS TO HELP WITH THE INTERVENTIONS.


COMMUNITY PROGRAMS: BLUE PLANET FOUNDATION EMPLOYED A VARIETY OF MEANS TO DISSEMINATE INFORMATION TO THE PUBLIC ABOUT HAWAII'S CRITICAL CLIMATE AND ENERGY SITUATION AND HOW TO TAKE PART IN DECARBONIZING HAWAII'S ELECTRICITY AND TRANSPORTATION SYSTEM. THE ORGANIZATION PROVIDED EDUCATIONAL CONTENT TO OVER 3,000 STUDENTS AND HAWAII RESIDENTS THROUGH FREE CLASSROOM PRESENTATIONS AND COMMUNITY PROGRAMMING.
