PROJECT EVERLAST - WHILE OUR COMMUNITY IS FORTUNATE TO HAVE MANY SERVICES AVAILABLE, NAVIGATING THE SYSTEM OF AVAILABLE RESOURCES CAN BE CONFUSING FOR ANYONE. YOUNG PEOPLE WHO ARE AGING OUT OF FOSTER CARE HAVE THE BURDEN OF FINDING THE SEPARATE SERVICES THEY NEED AND KNITTING THEM TOGETHER INTO SOMETHING THAT CAN SUPPORT THEIR IMMEDIATE NEEDS AND HELP THEM WORK TOWARD FUTURE SUCCESSES. THAT'S WHERE THE HUB'S CENTRAL ACCESS NAVIGATOR COMES IN. IN PARTNERSHIP WITH NEBRASKA CHILDREN AND FAMILIES FOUNDATION'S PROJECT EVERLAST, THE HUB PROVIDES A CENTRAL ACCESS NAVIGATOR TO HELP YOUNG PEOPLE DETERMINE WHAT SERVICES THEY NEED, ACCESS THOSE SERVICES, AND ENSURE THAT THEY'RE WORKING TOGETHER TO PROVIDE A CUSTOMIZED SYSTEM OF SUPPORT.
LINCOLN EDUCATION OUTREACH (LEO) IS A COMPREHENSIVE YOUTH DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM FOR YOUNG PEOPLE WHO HAVE EXPERIENCED VARIOUS BARRIERS TO ACADEMIC AND SOCIAL SUCCESS, AND WHO HAVE NOT HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO TAP THEIR LEADERSHIP POTENTIAL IN POSITIVE WAYS. LEO SEEKS TO INCREASE THE NUMBER OF DEVELOPMENTAL ASSETS IN ITS PARTICIPANTS BY UTILIZING A STRENGTH-BASED APPROACH TO PROMOTE POSITIVE SELF-ESTEEM AND ASSIST YOUTH IN DEVELOPING PERSONAL AND SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITIES.
LEAP - THE HUB STAFF PROVIDES POSTSECONDARY BRIDGING SUPPORT FOR YOUNG PEOPLE WHO ARE INVOLVED, OR WHO HAVE EVER BEEN INVOLVED IN THE FOSTER CARE SYSTEM. YOUTH CAN BE REFERRED THROUGH OUR CENTRAL ACCESS NAVIGATOR AND WILL RECEIVE SUPPORT IN NAVIGATING THE PROCESS OF PURSUING POSTSECONDARY EDUCATION OR A CAREER PATH. ONCE ENROLLED IN COLLEGE, SUPPORT WILL CONTINUE THROUGH A PARTNERSHIP WITH CENTRAL PLANS FOR FIRST YEAR SUPPORT SERVICES.
