CONFERENCES, SEMINARS, AND COURSES: IN OCTOBER, MTI CONDUCTED AN INTRODUCTION TO MAGAZINE PUBLISHING CONFERENCE IN ABIDJAN, COTE D'IVOIRE. IT WAS THE FIRST ON-SITE-TRAINING EVENT CONDUCTED IN FRANCOPHONE AFRICA. 87 PARTICIPANTS, TRAINERS AND STAFF ATTENDED THE CONFERENCE. WE ALSO PREPARED FOR THE NEXT EVENT IN 10-YEAR PLAN TO PROVIDE TRAINING IN AFRICA.
ONLINE TRAINING: MTI OFFERED SIX FREE WORKSHOPS ON A VARIETY OF TIMELY TOPICS AND MADE PLANS FOR SIX MORE FOR 2020. THE ONLINE WORKSHOPS WERE VIEWED ONLINE 169 TIMES BY VIEWERS FROM 24 COUNTRIES. WE ALSO CONDUCTED TWO ONLINE COURSES. 30 PUBLISHERS FROM 9 COUNTRIES PARTICIPATED IN THESE INTENSIVE COURSES. MTI ALSO OFFERED 6 FREE EBOOKS AND 6 ONLINE TRAINING VIDEOS FOR WEB-BASED VIEWING. BY THE END OF THE YEAR OUR E-BOOKS WERE DOWNLOADED 340 TIMES AND VIDEO TRAINING WATCHED 39 TIMES.
PERSONAL CONSULTING: EACH MONTH, THE MTI PRESIDENT AND STAFF HANDLED EMAILS AND SOCIAL NETWORKING CONTACTS FROM AN AVERAGE OF 70 TO 80 CHRISTIAN PUBLISHING STAFF IN THE THIRD WORLD ASKING FOR INFORMATION, ADVICE, OR SIMPLY MAKING FRIENDLY CONTACT.
