HUNTSVILLE INNER CITY LEARNING CENTER IS COMMITTED TO PROVIDING AT-RISK CHILDREN IN THE HUNTSVILLE AREA WITH THE EXTRACURRICULAR SUPPORT THEY NEED TO SUCCEED IN SCHOOL, BUILD MEANINGFUL LIVES & CAREERS FOR THEMSELVES, & BECOME SOCIALLY RESPONSIBLE MEMBERS OF SOCIETY WHO ARE PRODUCTIVE & COMPETENT LIFELONG LEARNERS.

THE CENTERS GIVE IT BACK TRACK 5K AND 1-MILE FUN RUN WAS HELD THE FIRST WEEKEND OF MAY WITH MORE THAN 50 RUNNERS FROM THE COMMUNITY JOINING ABOUT 45 OF OUR STUDENTS IN THE TWO RACES. OUR STUDENTS TRAINED ALL YEAR DURING TWICE-A-WEEK PHYSICAL FITNESS CLASSES FOR THE RACES. A PORTION OF THE REGISTRATION PROCEEDS WAS DONATED TO ANOTHER NON-PROFIT THAT WAS SELECTED BY THE STUDENTS. THIS YEARS RECIPIENT WAS SLEEP IN HEAVENLY PEACE, AN ORGANIZATION THAT BUILDS AND DELIVERS BEDS TO CHILDREN WHO DONT HAVE BEDS TO SLEEP IN.
