FOUR WINDS NATURE PROGRAM: REGULAR MONTHLY COMMUNITY-BASED NATURAL SCIENCE WORKSHOPS FOR ADULT VOLUNTEERS WHO THEN LEAD OUTDOOR SCIENCE LESSONS/EXPLORATIONS WITH CLASSES OF ELEMENTARY SCHOOLCHILDREN ACROSS VERMONT AND IN NEIGHBORING STATES. THE NATURE PROGRAM ALSO PROVIDES PLACE-BASED SCIENCE LEARNING RESOURCES FOR EDUCATORS TEACHING REMOTELY AND FOR HOMESCHOOLING FAMILIES. THE NATURE PROGRAM IS DESIGNED TO GIVE YOUNG CHILDREN AN UNDERSTANDING OF AND APPRECIATION FOR THE ENVIRONMENT IN THEIR SCHOOLYARD AND NEIGHBORHOOD.
