IN 2022, SPORTS PLUS HELD DOZENS OF IN PERSON AND VIRTUAL INSTRUCTIONAL YEAR-ROUND SWIM, SOCIAL AND FITNESS CLASSES AND THAT SERVED PARTICIPANTS WITH AUTISM AND OTHER DISABILITIES IN VARIOUS LOCATIONS THROUGHOUT MONTGOMERY COUNTY, MD. WE WERE ONE OF ONLY 11 SWIM PROGRAMS IN THE COUNTRY, AND THE ONLY ONE IN THE STATE AND DC REGION, TO BE AWARDED A NORMA AND MALCOM BAKER RECREATION GRANT. SPORTS PLUS WAS CHOSEN BASED ON THE WIDE AGE RANGE IT SERVES, MEASURABLE IMPACT ON THE LIVES OF THOSE WHO PARTICIPATE AND THEIR LOVED ONES AND DEMONSTRATED BEST PRACTICES IN SWIM INSTRUCTION FOR PARTICIPANTS WITH AUTISM.
