FRIENDS OF COOS COUNTY ANIMALS, INC. IS ORGANIZED EXCLUSIVELY FOR CHARITABLE PURPOSES, AND SPECIFICALLY TO SUPORT AND ENHANCE SERVICES FOR THE COOS COUNTY ANIMAL SHELTER, AS WELL AS OTHER ORGANIZATIONS AND CAUSES THAT PROMOTE ANIMAL WELFARE, INCLUDING SPAY/NEUTER PROGRAMS.

SPAY/NEUTER VOUCHER PROGRAM. VOUCHERS FOR SPAY/NEUTER OF CATS AND DOGS AT THE LOCAL, LOW-COST SPAY/NEUTER CLINIC ARE MADE AVAILABLE TO MEMBERS OF THE COMMUNITY UPON REQUEST. FERAL CAT SPAY/NEUTERS ARE PAID FOR BY OUR ORGANIZATION.
FOSTER CARE AND ADOPTION PROGRAM. LAST YEAR WE ADOPTED OUT 56 DOGS AND 257 CATS. OUR ORGANIZATION IS A FOSTER HOME BASED GROUP. ALL ANIMALS ARE IN PRIVATE HOMES UNTIL THEY HAVE BEEN BEHAVIORALLY ASSESSED AND MEDICALLY CLEARED. EXPENSES INCLUDE VETERINARY FEES, MEDICINES AND SUPPLIES. OUR FOSTER HOMES SPEND UNTOLD HOURS WITH THEIR FOSTERS UNTIL THEY ARE MEDICALLY SOUND FOR ADOPTION.
ASSISTANCE TO COOS COUNTY ANIMAL SHELTER. WE PROVIDE ITEMS FOR WHICH THE COUNTY HAS NO BUDGET. THESE ITEMS INCLUDE CANINE AND FELINE VACCINES AND MEDICATIONS. WE ALSO UNDERWRITE A FOOD PROGRAM THROUGH HILLS SCIENCE DIET, TO INSURE THE SHELTER ANIMALS HAVE A CONSISTENT, HIGH-QUALITY DIET WHILE AWAITING ADOPTION.
COMMUNITY ASSISTANCE. REIMBURSEMENT FOR EMERGENCY CARE COSTS FOR INJURED DOGS OR CATS REQUESTED FROM VETERINARIANS ON A CASE-BY-CASE BASIS.
