OUR MISSION IS TO STRENGTHEN LITERACY SKILLS AMONG UNDER-SERVED ELEMENTARY SCHOOL CHILDREN, AND PROVIDE MEALS IN A NURTURING NEIGHBORHOOD ENVIRONMENT.

WITH THREE MOBILE CLASSROOMS AND PARTNERSHIPS WITH OTHER NONPROFIT ORGANIZATIONS, READ AND FEED SERVED 554 CHILDREN. WE PROVIDE A NUTRITIOUS MEAL, READING TUTORING AND AGE APPROPRIATE BOOKS AT NO CHARGE TO ALL OF THE CHILDREN ATTENDING THE PROGRAM. IN RETURN, WE ASK FOR THEIR COMMITMENT TO ATTEND THE ENTIRE PROGRAM AND BE ACTIVE PARTICIPANTS. WE DISTRIBUTED 11,063 BOOKS THROUGH OUR PROGRAM, HELPING TO BUILD HOME LIBRARIES FOR MANY OF THE CHILDREN. OUR VOLUNTEERS PUT IN 2,760 HOURS TUTORING STUDENTS AT 26 PROGRAM SITES. READ AND FEED ALSO HAD 116 TUTORING PROGRAMS CONDUCTED FOR 1,075 HOURS OF INSTRUCTION, 774 SCHOOL SUPPLY BAGS ISSUED, 10,048 MEALS DISTRIBUTED, AND 4,414 HEALTHY SNACKS CONSUMED BY STUDENTS ATTENDING TUTORING SESSIONS.
